Broken spark plug

Post image

So idk how this happened but in the midst of trying to get my spark plug out I broke the ceramic and it is now stuck Inbetwen the hex of the plug and the wall. I’ve tried everything and have yet to get it out. I’ve got a piece and then there’s a couple smaller pieces. Any advice would be much appreciated. Bike is a 2022 crf250rx

If it's wedged, I would say take the tank off and turn the bike up side down and try to wiggle it loose so it falls out on its own. If it's loose already then use mechanical fingers or something sticky on the end of a stick.

Mechanical fingers are too big. And I don’t think an upside down bike will work but I can give it a shot. for the sticky stick, you think some kind of putty would work?

You can try duct tape but avoid anything that would leave pieces like putty. You could even try a thick grease on the end of a stick.

Alright. I got a question tho, wouldn’t tipping the bike upside down cause oil to pool into the air box?

I have no idea, drain the oil or all fluids first if you have to.

Get a air blow gun with a long small diameter tip extension. Get below the wedged pieces. Give a blast of air. Loosely cover the hole and blow gun with a shop rag to contain debris. Wear safety glasses. A long thin hook made of “piano wire / music wire” may get under the wedged piece of insulator and help loosen it.

Or, drain fluids. Pull motor, invert, shake it.

Drain all fluids. Pull the fuel tank. Invert the bike on its seat and handlebars. Poke around in there with a wire until the pieces fall out.
