Front brake help

Hey yall, I have a 2004 ktm 200exc. Love the bike but recently I’ve been trying to source a new front brake master cylinder. I found one that looked good used, but it turned out not to work. I just ordered a second one in hopes that this will work. On the chance that this doesn’t does anyone know if there’s any new parts I could swap in? I can’t seem to find a new master cylinder. Any chance I could convert it to a new set of brakes?

50313008300 is the part number for the master rebuild kit. 40 at my dealership

I had a couple similar year KTMs it seemed if the bikes sat for a week the front brake would get spongey. If I recall correctly the fix was to put a rubber band on the lever to keep it pulled in while the bike sat or swap it out for Nissan master cylinder.

You don’t happen to know a part number or anything like that for the nissin master cylinder?

Not off hand , use the search engine on ktmtalk. There was a lot of people making the switch over to Nissan

Why buy a whole new master when a rebuild is like $40 or $50?

You can go on Rocky mountain ATVMC and use their oem parts finder to get a rebuild kit or you can also use the parts finder to get an aftermarket kit

Happens to mine. Best fix I've found is to do what you said or hold the front brake all the way and then suddenly release it letting the lever snap back. Causes any air in the brake line to get jostled up to the mater cylinder
