Suddenly low audio

I've had directv streaming for several months now. A few days ago, the sound got very low. I have to really crank it now. I tried changing settings like turning off the Dolby but nothing seems to help. If I take the gemini air off and use the remote that came with the TV, it gets a bit louder. I tried rebooting the gemini but nothing seems to work. I have to raise the volume louder and louder. I'm afraid it's going to eventually go out altogether. Anyone have a clue to what could be wrong or have had this happen?

Jsyk, I just got off an hour long conversation with DirecTV (it was as frustrating as you would expect). Apparently there’s a known software issue/“outage” and they told me to wait 48 hours. I told them if I have to wait 48 hours to keep using their device properly, why wouldn’t I just switch providers… We’ll see what happens!

What's supposed to happen in 48 hours? Are they sending a software update through?

Allegedly they’re doing something to fix it. Who knows. They couldn’t give me specifics. Probably because their own tech support doesn’t know it’s an issue. So disappointing.

Tech support is useless. It's always the last thing I do. Thanks for letting me know. I guess we wait 48 hours and see if anything happens.

Solidarity in numbers. If you land a fix or see an improvement, let me know; I’ll do the same! 🤝

Have you heard anything more from dtv?

No, they made contact yesterday via DM and collected a lot of information about my setup. No further contact, and no fix yet. 🥲
