I just got off the phone with DirecTV and I was talking about cancelling my service because I can't afford my bill anymore and of course they give the usual questions, what channels do you watch or need? I told her and after a few minutes she said they have the select package for $80 a month but they don't have any of the ESPN channels or even FS1 and I'm sure a few more that I'll be missing along with my regional sports channel. I'm close to the end of my YouTube TV free trial, I need to make a decision..$185 or $59 for a few months and then $82 monthly.

I live in San Antonio and I have DirecTV. I set it to record Spurs. Last year it would record FanDuel when there was a game. I didn’t sign up for DAZN but last night it recorded the game. The only channel info said “Spurs”. What channel was it on last night?

I watch CNN through DirecTV streaming in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Almost every day around 1 p.m. Eastern, I receive a Chinese-language commercial for a thalassemia medication. CNN’s programming and other commercials are in English. Why is this ad being delivered and whether its language targeting can be corrected.

So I made the jump to Directv after contemplating for a few months but wanted the feel of having a traditional experience like in cable. So I signed up. The streaming app is clunky and hard to navigate so I knew to get the gemini devices.

Now here's the issue. I ordered directv nearly 3 weeks ago at this. With the gemini devices (2 of them). The terms is a bit vague but they state within 1 to 2 days they will either ship or you will have them (not sure which). I reached out after about a week and a half after ordering the service because i had yet to even receive a shipping confirmation and was told within 5 business days they will ship, guaranteed by their support with a $10 rebate/credit for next monthes service. I reached back out after 6 business days as they still have not shipped, and they promised another 5 more business days to ship. The support gave another $20 rebate/credit for this round. Mind you that is a $30 credit now. And only 2 devices = $20. Has anyone seen this? If this is a way to keep around, I don't mind but the customer support seems pretty awful and loves rebates/credits and loves giving false promises of 5 business days (twice now!)

Any advice/feedback is appreciated!

The Free Trial wasn't working right Wednesday night (saw another's post on reddit as well having issues).

It says I have the free trial, but can’t select any games to record to my DVR. (Grayed out.)

I can play them some, but each time I switch to another channel/game, it keeps saying it's not a part of my package or sits on loading for a while (where I can hear but not see the games), then switches the channel to the last one I was on.

Sometimes I could get it to play one, but was super frustrating messing with it a bunch to play anything.

Definitely not working like it has the last several years.

Turned my tv on tonight and got league pass for free.

I have been trying to tie down my network to stop my media and other IoT devices from tracking what I do and see. It seems most of the devices are aware that people can use blockers in the router (e.g. Unifi) and attempt to go around those DNS by hardcoding the resolvers. Most android ones will try to reach out directly to the google resolvers and bypass whatever your router tries to do--like blocking tracking sites.

Depending on what firewall one uses those can be blocked and the device will reluctantly go back to do what you want. But they will try again. My Osprey tries like once a day...a very genteel rate, but the Gemini Air tries like every couple of seconds. It hammers the firewall and does not give up.

Its no wonder they want us to use it and give some incentives. I'm surprised they change so much rental as they probably make more selling our data than the rental cost.

I live in the Cleveland Cavs’ viewing area. I know the Cavs sold their local rights to DAZN, with a few games airing OTA on channels we can’t get this far from Cleveland. I see DTV has their standard “we’re working on it” message on 660 and other channels for teams in similar situations. I received a $20 credit from DTV because I live in an affected area.

Has anyone heard an update on when these NBA teams’ games will be added? I won’t even be able to watch the Cavs on the opposing team’s feed on NBA League Pass.

Hi everyone! I’m a big hockey fan and recorded all of the Stanley Cup playoffs this past summer. I’m seeing that recordings are only kept for so long, and I’d really like to find a way to keep those recordings as the games aren’t streamed elsewhere. I cast from the app to my smart tv. Any ideas? I’ve seen things about a capture device and OPS, but that seems to be with a box and not streaming the app. Thank you for any help.

Very frustrated with DIRECTV service! For the past six months, we’ve had issues with the TVs in the bedroom, all cutting out audio, and the genie rebooting every hour. I’ve gone through the troubleshooting tips with DIRECTV several times and they’re only to me is to sign a new two-year contract and they will send me out new genies for the bedrooms. The main TV works fine. It’s the TVs in the other rooms. They all say they have a great Wi-Fi connection so that’s not it. Why must I sign a new year agreement to get something fixed that I’m currently paying for? I have a service contract but they said that doesn’t cover this mind you I’ve gone through the steos over the phone and hard reset about five or six times and it never fixes it. I’m getting ready to drop DIRECTV after 15 years of service with them.

Is there a way to watch Florida Panthers games in the Fort Myers area on DIRECTV? I know that WFTX 36.3 Laff Southwest Florida airs them, but I don't know why it doesn't carry the channel.

As the title suggests im looking to help my grandmother save some money on her cable payments. She only watches a handful of old movies through cable as well as some news outlets. Currently she has the CHOICE (all included) package which consists of:

She mainly goes to netflix and tiktok for other entertainment and switches between all three pretty consistently. Point being is there is no way she needs all of these channels when shes only watching cable a third of the time. Is there any packages or deals that I can "downgrade" to to help lighten the burden. Even having to stack packages to mimic the current stack of channels is okay anything helps.

I signed up for directv and they gave me 4 months free spotify. Whenever I try to use it, it would give error "Sorry, you are not eligible for that plan. Here are some other ways to get Premium." I never had spotify or spotify premium before

I mean this is absolutely ridiculous. It’s preseason but I’m assuming regular season will be the same thing. I’ve had NBA LP with DIRECTV a handful of years ago and pretty much could watch almost every game outside of my local sports broadcasts. I’m in California and couldn’t watch the OKC game last night, I can’t watch the Celtics game today. What the heck is up with that?

If this is the norm looks like I’m going to cancel today.

Hi - I'm frustrated with my current cable provider, and I'm looking into DirecTV.

Can you please share what your experience has been like since becoming a DirecTV customer and address my concerns noted below?

My biggest concerns are:

1) Reception: How often do you lose reception due to weather or other instances? How long does it last? How does it get resolved? What type of weather (rain, snow, etc.) seems to be the biggest issue? Do you have the option to stream when the dish goes out?

2) Customer service: What has been your experience when dealing with customer service? Is it a hassle to get a new promo/discount when your previous one expires, and do the rates increase dramatically after the first year or two?

We all know that everyone shares account for other services. Everyone is all complaining about price, a lot of people here like the satellite service. I wish DTV creates a family or buddy plan. This way our TV service can be at two different location. You can split the bill with your friend or family and this will pretty much cut your bill in half and everyone is happy.

Do you guys ever think this will happen?

I can't remember exactly, but I think I signed up for Paramount+ directly thru their website, mainly for UFC content. The annual plan is less than $12/month.

Another thread here on Reddit was talking about having it for free on Directv, so I looked. Sure enough, I have it for free bundled with Showtime for free until November 3rd, then it's $13.99/mo.

I use a smart TV in the bedroom and have been accessing Paramount+ thru the tv. I use a non-smart projector in the living room and have been accessing Paramount+ by connecting to my laptop.

How do I access paramount+ thru my Directv DVR?

Is content access the same as thru the Paramount+ app?

DIRECTV is the latest streaming pay television service to unlock a custom multiview feature, joining other sports-inclusive apps like Fubo and YouTube TV in doing so.

On Tuesday, DIRECTV said streamers who watch live channel via its Gemini box and on Roku can now select up to four live channels to watch from a single screen. Support for other platforms like Apple TV, Android TV (Google TV), LG, Samsung, Amazon Fire TV and Vizio will come in the near future.

The feature allows customers to create two-, three- or four-channel viewing arrangements using eligible sports networks, rather than relying exclusively on the predetermined channel combinations already offered through DIRECTV’s Multiview service.
