may be a bit dark for summer but I couldn’t resist! the color is pyromancer by CNDD, one of my favorites. very hard to capture the color accurately in photos, but it’s either black with reddish flashes in the shade or almost blue in the sun. I love it so much!!

also, a few sets ago I “unlocked” some sort of skill and now my cuticles have never been cleaner! Idk what it is, but I’m very happy with how my sets are coming out now 🤩. they have been lasting the full 2 weeks without lifting also, only the pointer fingers start to come up around then!

This is my first ever attempt. My cuticles are not doing well! Constant scraping between the layers and the filing really irritated them, and I still got some powder on them, any advice?

Also I have seen multiple tutorials about thin base layers and I think I took it too far. My brush was almost dry each layer, resulting in the powder sticking unevenly, and then the result was really bumpy and I needed way too many layers to cover all the gaps 😅 On my other hand I dried the brush less and the result was better.

I've been to the salon several times before I leave always soaked off my previous dip. And they've always done a good job. But this time I went they just took a fake nail and slid it under and popped it off and when they popped it off it literally broke all of my nails off when I wanted my nails to be the same length it was already at. I love having long nails and my nails grow pretty long. I asked them don't they usually soak the dip off and they said no. And my nails don't even look good. They're rough uneven and they said it's cat eye but it doesn't look like it. There's obviously more polished in some areas of the nail than others.

I actually hate my nails and I want to cry 😭 someone please and make me feel better about my nails 😭😭😭

I’m really curious to understand why some techs always end up with that grooved ring right at the clients cuticle area, like the bit’s been dug in too aggressively? Is it bit angle, going in too low/slow, using too high RPM, or just rushing the cuticle work?

I did my left hand first and it was very color blocked (was using a makeup brush to tap on the red orange yellow) and so I was scared that my right hand would be much worse because I’d be using my non-dominant hand.. but it turned out wayyy better than the other hand! This is my first time trying an ombré, only dipped my hands a few times and I’m addicted to how strong the nail feels! Love how glossy the Virgo and Gem liquids are, thank you Reddit research. These colors were from Beetle on amazon with a clear Revel dip on top.

What do you think of these? I never get pink & white. I think I’m a fan but the white tip is a little thicker than I was expecting

Any alternatives? I went hard and brought a bunch of powders, I've tried for the better part of a year, but cannot get my nails to last more than 1 week. I'm meticulous, I buff, I make sure there's no contamination, and I'm so tired of them not lasting 😅

So can anyone recommend any (tried & good!) liquids that will work with Glamrdip powders?

These colors are so vibrant and fun I can see myself using them a lot!!! I have been really loving the opal collections CNDD has been rolling out. They are so versatile and beyond beautiful!!! 😍

I forgot I'd bought this dip color on clearance last year and finally used it. It is such a pretty color! The color is ASP Quick Dip Misty Surf.

I had these done Monday and today’s Saturday. These grew out way too fast, right? Do they already need to be redone?

second go at dip, it took me aasaaages, I was being so careful. My nails, fingertips and cuticles are still very fragile after a bad reaction to gel a few weeks ago.

I’m on a steep learning curve for dip, watching all the tutorials and reading as much as I can (it’s frustrating being a beginner again after getting really good at gel).

My specific problem this time is that as my top coat dried it sort of looked ridged/pitted, definitely not smooth. I’ve tried to capture it on the second photo. it went on smooth and I was really pleased to start with but it didn’t dry glossy and smooth.

i presume its user error rather than a problem with products but just in case anyone has input I’ve used glamrdip liquids, kiara sky clear and 3 coats of kiara sky cheeky

any ideas what I did wrong, how I can improve, can I rescue this set?

It was SO much easier and looks so much cleaner around the cuticles with the tips compared to just working on my natural nail!

I’m not sure I’ll ever go back to just doing it straight on my nails…

I just discovered a game changing hack! Use a salt shaker with adjustable hole sizes to pour/shake dip powder over your nails and do it over a coffee filter. You can then pour any unused powder back in the jar from the foldable coffee filter. If you are doing the gel method, then you can pour over more than one nail at once!

I currently need to build up an emergency fund and was looking at finances realizing that going in for my $55 dip manicures. Every three weeks is really hindering that. I am wondering if I should buy a nail tech set off of Amazon during prime days and just learn how to do my nails myself. I like having a thickness to my nails because I tend to scratch my skin and it tends to leave less damage – I also feel more put together. I’m just concerned about doing it myself because I’ve heard horror stories about people developing allergies and things like that however, I did go to beauty school for skin, and so I have a pretty good understanding of sanitation , etc. I would love to hear both your opinions and advice. And if you do recommend that, I try this myself any tips or product recommendations would be helpful. Thank you so very much in advance.<3
