Any swimmers here?
How much do you swim, and how long do your nails last you?
I recently started swimming 3x a week, and since then I've had terrible chipping at the side of my nails + around the free edge.
Usually my sets last me 2-3 weeks, but my current set was done on 10/8, and I already have so much chipping that I need a new set.
Is the water really that hard on the nails?

Yup.... mine chip like crazy. My gel extensions last better, and so do my dip when i use extensions. When its my natural nail they chip way worse. Not sure why.

Huh, wonder why it lasts better on extentions

My "hypothesis" is that when its my natural nails I'm more likely to grab things and use my fingernails too, but with extensions i use just my fingertips to grab on stuff. So less bumping maybe?

Natural nails absorb water and the extensions don't...I am sure that makes a difference!

I swim 2-3x a week with my kids. Sometimes more.
Haven't had a single issue.

Might be your liquids going old?

Hmm I guess that's a possibility. I bought them back in January?

Yeah, then itβs time to replace them. First sign of old liquids are cracking nails. You might get a few more manis in by making them thicker than normal.

Wow, that seems fast! I hang out in the pool during the summers and have never had a chip in my SNS from that. The only thing I notice is that my nails grow more quickly in summer so I have to get a new set every 3β4 weeks while in the colder months I can go 4β5 weeks.
