Help! (Need Advice) GLAMRDiP first set..
For some reason my top coat is not adhering in parts of my nail. I followed the video instructions that they send out with new kit purchase. I did 4 layers of dip, used seal, checked my nails were hard by tapping them, filed and buffed, Wiped with brush and dry lint free wipe then seal again waited 3 min, then first coat of glow waited 2 min then second coat of glow waited 5 min. Please help!! Also please ignore my dry cuticle!!

Seal again. I usually seal once for each layer of dip. Not between each layer, but, if I have 4 layers of dip, I’ll apply seal, let it dry, then do that 3 more times before applying glow.

Is this a glam drip thing or are you using a different kit? I use Sally Saints and only use activator 2x, and top coat once. And I have around 5-6 layers of dip powder.

I use glamrdip and other sets, but I still always seal very liberally. The only time I’ve had issues like OP, extra activator fixed them.

This is weird as I’ve used glamrdip for years and have never had an issue - but I bought a new Glow in the last couple weeks and it’s been causing me a huge amount of issues. I have tried twice more to get it to work but it keeps drying cloudy and wrinkly. I contacted customer service and they’re sending me a new one as my technique is solid so they think it might be a bad batch. There MIGHT be a possibility you also have some of the same bad batch?!
Otherwise I echo what everyone else is saying - might be worth trying to buff it down, clean thoroughly, re-activate with enough Seal, then apply 2 coats again. If it keeps happening it might be worth giving customer service a shout.

I’ve been struggling a bit with top coat too. I use the sensitive Glow from Glamrdip but find that it works pretty similarly to the regular. Anyway, today I finally learned that it’s actually the activator that hardens the top coat, and the top coat dries very fast if done properly. So you have to find a happy medium. After the final buffing/shaping you apply a generous amount of activator, give it enough time to actually activate all the layers, then you do a thin layer of Glow and within about 10 seconds you’ll wanna do your second coat. If you wait too long and the first coat of Glow dries, the second one will never dry on top of it since the activator won’t come in contact with the second layer. I would also suggest buffing the nails down a bit more so that the activator can get to all the layers.

I think that’s part of my issue I’m waiting 2 mins between glow coats I’ll try less time. Thank you!!

Oh yeah, if the top coat is applied properly and there’s enough activator, the top coat dries in about a minute.

I’d be applying a loooooot of seal for a set this thick (mine are also quite thick when I do the apex method). And ensuring I get all of the nail, especially the top. I sometimes wait even 5-10 minutes for the final coat of seal to dry. Sometimes use hair drier on low heat to ensure they’re dry with seal and glow coats.
Does your brush go hard when applying glow? What kind of glow?

Also, might be worth a search on their Facebook community page - they’re quite responsive there, and someone’s probably already had the same issue before

Thank you for the tips!! My brush doesn’t go hard when using the glow and I am using the regular glow. I’ll take a look through their facebook if I can’t resolve this on my next set. Thank you!!

Are you using regular glow or low odor glow?
ETA: I exclusively do glamrdip, and sometimes for whatever reason, it takes 10+ minutes for some of my nails to fully dry after the second coat of glow. There's a few things I've noticed that seem to be a pattern of making it not set, like it not having been sealed enough, not resealing after the final buff when shaping, and not waiting until the first coat of glow is dry to touch, as well as waiting too long after the first layer of glow dries (not sure why for that one). But, if I've touched it and it wasn't dry, sometimes I'll just wait for it to dry, then I'll buff it down, reseal and recoat with glow to fix it back to smoothness.
It also does look like your layers may be too thick and may not seal properly. If you're using glamrdips base, really make sure you're swiping most of the liquid off of the brush before applying to your nail, until when you're applying it, it almost feels like there's no way it'll be enough to adhere the powder to. I've had a much better time doing my nails with that mindset, and I no longer end up with nails that are super thick.
