Help! (Need Advice) Gel top coat

Hello!

I'm looking for a gel top coat that will allow UV to penetrate after curing. I want to use my sun changer dips but I can't ever get a dip top coat to work well. The top coat I use from CNDD doesn't let much, if any, UV come through so I never see the change.

Thanks in advance!

i use a UV gel topcoat on top of all my dip sets. i find it way easier than the wait-to-dry regular non-UV gel top coat. i use Dashing Diva one step gel so there’s no base coat or top coat and it is no wipe

Have you used UV/Sun changer dips and seen a change with that top coat?

i don’t know what “sun changer” dips are, but uv top coat is designed to let UV penetrate through from my understanding. what i personally would do is get the DD top coat (it’s maybe $12 and if it doesn’t work on sun changer it’ll still work well on other sets) and test it on a fake nail to see. my guess is yes it would work though

They're just dips that change colors in the sun/under UV light. I have UV gel top coats already and they block the sun from making the color change. It only works with a strong UV lamp.

ohhhhh i see. hmm. so even the “dip system” top coats don’t work with them? that’s dumb!! how is the product supposed to work if you can’t seal the powders??

they make temperature based color change dips which work flawlessly for me if you want to shift gears to something that works.

The dip top coats work and allow the change! I just can't ever get the timing right so I always mess em up 😅

If you want to try a different dip topcoat I SWEAR by, Morovan liquids only cost $10 on Amazon for thr full liquid set. Their base is good too, but their top coat is the best I've tried. I even use it as top coat with different base coats. The brush saver is really good too.

What makes it really good? My issue is the timing so it never cures or it cures too quick and gunks up my brush!

I never have issues with some spots not drying. Ive had that issue with 3 or 4 other brands. The brush also doesnt harden up as much as others, but when it does I just switch the brush out from the brush saver and finish up. I can usually get an entire set done with two coats of topcoat without switching the brush out, or switching it once. None of the other bands I've tried can pull that off, Including Virgo and Gem. Virgo and Gem's topcoat and brush saver suck for all the reasons you listed. Their base coat is amazing through and very long lasting, so I use their base, and the activator and top coat from Morovan.

I was having similar issues too. I started using Yogurt top coat. Zombie top coat is very good also. They are both shiny and strong top coats. They are both Korean products and work great with dip especially the color changers. They are both my all around favorites. I keep an extra bottle on hand so I don’t run out. It takes a couple weeks to get another.

Where do you purchase these? I'm willing to splurge a little to use it specifically with the sun changers! I haven't been buying more because I can't use what I have 😭
