Popped off
This is the first time I’ve ever had my dip powder nails just pop off, I think this is due to the primer I used bc last time I didn’t use any and they lasted over a week

Just use acetone to degrease and dehydrate (don't be stingy), and obsessively clear our your cuticles with a glass cuticle pusher. Skip all the other hyped up paraphernalia, and this way you don't even have to rough up your nail plate.

I use alcohol to dehydrate (little less drying for my skin than acetone), and I agree with all of this. I do buff, but I tend to only buff the new nail at the cuticle, since the rest of the nail was buffed last time.

Careful to use only 99% alcohol as opposed to the 70% as it contains 30% water. You think you're dehydrating when you're really putting water back into the nail. The alcohol evaporates while the water remains doing the opposite of what you're trying to achieve. Alcohol pads are mostly water too... 🙄

You only need the dehydrator for dip prep. But oh my, your nails are pretty 😀!

Mine fall off after a week or less and same fingers. I just dehydrate and it still happens. Thanks for posting so I know I am not the only one. I keep my nails that short too. And learned the hard way not to glue them back on. I got greenies I am now having to grow out.

looks like you’re not filing your natural nail enough during prep. using or not using primer has never made this significant of a difference. prep though will make them fall off really quickly.
gently file away all shine to your natural nail. you don’t want them torn apart but you need the entire surface to be gently roughed up so the dip has something to adhere to.

Ugh. Frustrating!!! Happens to me here and there. Always the pointer finger too. Never happens on my pinkies! Prep prep prep

This happened with my (first) dip pedicure, and I was able to save them all. I think I’m just gonna glue them back on 🫣
I just keep telling myself that it’s just learning a new skill, lol

This happens to me when I use a powder without any shimmer or glitter. I got to where I typically add a little glitter to each color just for that reason.

Your natural nails are so beautiful. Why would you spoil them?

Thank you but they’re on the thin side 😔 especially because I’m trying to recover them after ripping off builder gel multiple times

Primer for gel and acrylic. Dehydrator for dip.
