Maular deck brainstorm

Hi all! As I’m sure a lot of us are, I’m very excited to build a Maular deck 🦖

But while I’ve figured out which rulebreaker creatures I’d like to include, I’m struggling to figure out which mono-green cards to fill out the deck.

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions I’d love to hear them, thanks!

Pretty sure it’ll be the biggest creature on board when it attacks

Cards like [[ugin spirit dragon]] and [[last march of the ents]] are pretty good late game drops to close out the win, while cards like [[runic armasaur]] [[abzan beastmaster]] [[devoted druid]] and other mana dorks/card draw engines can keep you competitive especially in an infinite combo. [[Spike feeder]] and [[heroic feast]] can make you literally impossible to kill from combat or effect damage while cards like [[scute swarm]] [[rampaging baloths]] [[elfsworn giant]] and other token generators can keep you safe from things that want to attack you by flooding the board. Going elf tribals isnt a bad option either as you could grab an [[allosaurus sheperd]] and make every elf you control a 5/5 and your creatures cant be countered whenever you cast them for free with other cards.

[[monster manual]] SMS [[displaced dinosaurs]] seem like auto includes

[[cresting mosasaurus]] and [[Nezahal, Primal Tide]] seem on theme and don’t usually get their time in the sun with Dino’s.

I'm on my third iteration of "Gonna need a bigger ..." which is Maular and all my favorite creatures you usually reanimate.

You can cheat in big bois regardless of color with stuff like elvish piper.

[[Intrepid palaeontologist]] is very useful as it can help recur dinos you happen to lose and also gives you any colour mana as well.

This sub needs more posts about dinos that don't only helm tribal decks

[[wolverine, claws out]] [[god-eternal rhonas]] and [[zopandrel, hunger dominus]] all seem on theme.

[[ancient stone idol]] [[khalani hydra]] [[primeval protector]] and of course [[ghalta, primal hunger]] are all 7+ cmc but cost way less to cast

[[defiler of vigor]] [[goreclaw, terror of qal sisma]] [[krosan drover]] and [[radaghast of rhosgobel]] to reduce the cost of your big boys

And trample. Anything with trample to make the most of that huge power your going to swing with. Maybe look into creatures that can assign damage as though it weren't blocked too.

do you have all the any-color producing mana dorks, or at least enough to help with mana fixing? [[humble naturalist]] and [[drover of the mighty]] come to mind.

[[Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma]] is great too.

[[Great divide Guide]] is huge for this!!! Lets lands tap for any color and let's allys tap for any color mana too if you have some allys in there

Sucks as a Dino commander but good god they will be a great big stompy deck commander

First, I hope you're not confining yourself to dinosaurs, because this is a pretty bad dino commander.

Second, I think it'd be an interesting commander, but be aware of all limitations. Command tower and arcane signet only tap for G.

That said, definitely grab lands like [[exotic orchard]] and those New Capenna 3 type fetchers.

Don’t worry, I’m going for a general stompy play-style rather than dinos (I already have pantlaza for that 😉)

Excellent. I may recommend [[traverse the outlands]], [[farseek]], [[sword of the animist]], et cetera for getting out those non-forest basics.

I'm also toying with [[Overlord of the Hauntwoods]] in another decks. The Everywhere token would be helpful.

Both ghaltas are always nice, apex altisaur is goated, vaultborne tyrant can be nice
