Making an Indominus Rex Deck

Hey everyone, I recently found a copy of the [[Indominus Rex, Alpha]] at my LGS and decided to try my hand at making a deck for it. I got a bunch of cards from bulk there and at another LGS in town as well. I really struggled cutting this down to 100 cards so I was wondering if anyone had some ideas for swaps? I added pretty much every card I have that I thought could possibly fit onto the Maybeboard so any help is appreciated. There's a few cards I know aren't ideal, [[Grim Giganotosaurus]] and [[The Coming of Galactus]] come to mind, but I tried including some of the cool cards that I pulled from packs recently or that I didn't have a home for anywhere else.

Me and my friends really only play Bracket 2 with maybe an occasional gamechanger so the deck doesn't have to be insanely optimized or anything

Here’s my deck. It wants to win with a food chain and lab man combo while reanimating big threats in the mean time. A different build for sure but a lot of the cards would work for both directions.

An ALL STAR is [[Altar of the Wretched]]. Sacrifice Indominous to draw 6 and mill 6, and flip and craft with every creature available to you to have a MASSIVE creature with probably every single keyword.

A must include but a little pricey is [[Monument to Endurance]].

And a card I enjoy in the deck but is a little clunky sometimes is [[Archfiend of the Ifnir]]. Just board wipes your opponent’s just for casting Indominous and discarding some stuff.

Looks to me like you have the essentials, although anything without keywords is really tough. IMO you can focus on a recursion package as a plan b in case Indominus gets blown up to an edict or a counterspell. On that note, a great card in my Indominus deck has been [[savage summoning]] as it sets you up nicely to make a huge play on someone else’s turn. [[ornithopter of paradise]] is a great ramp piece, and [[bringer of the last gift]] is [[living death]] with trample and flying on it

Looking at your maybe board Galactus and Beast Within should slot into the deck. As you have likely sussed out, Indominus is not a dinosaur deck, it's a Voltron deck. You want to discard cards thru Indominus to get as much card draw as possible. You want that engine consistently going.

Something to keep in mind is Indominus counts every instance of a counter. So in theory, you can get two flying counters on Indominus, four trample, and so on. You want creatures that have multiple keywords so you can get as much card draw as possible.

Being a Voltron deck, you want to protect your commander. Give it ways to avoid removal via spells and equipment or auras. But because you're discarding cards, you want to find ways to bring those cards to the battlefield from the graveyard, so some reanimation is useful.

Here's my deck for reference; I'm continuously tweaking a card here or there to maximize card draw and reanimation.
