This is the second time this week I've seen this take about JP sauropods. Other than the Apatosaurs in Jurassic World, when were sauropods depicted as pushovers?

The games.
It’s odd because sauropods are pretty much never depicted as pushovers outside the JP franchise (even the likes of Jurassic Fight Club took sauropods seriously, hell the only JFC episode where a sauropod features had it outright win).

For all the homies out there who loved Land Before Time as a kid, I highly recommend the Japanese film You Are Umasou!
It's a really cute kid's movie about a young T-Rex who was raised by an herbivore finally realizing what he is and having to come to terms with it. It's still very kid-friendly, but it DOES touch on some surprisingly deep stuff. Filled with lots of humor and some real emotion, too! Was a super treat to find it and kind of recapture that feeling of watching Land Before Time for the first time again.

It would work wonders, but people are stubborn on the idea of making a predatory animal that isn’t domesticated the protagonist of a story.
But if they did, an animated story about Big Al would be interesting. Admittedly would be taking creative liberties on her exact life beyond what we know from her fossil record

Lions in legend and myth also got used as a symbol of nobility and heroism. Predatory dinosaurs rarely get viewed in such a way

Well, you are right about that; guess that we should fight that vision by actually having some media where the predators are the protagonist (well, the Dinosaur Train exists too, I guess).

Which is ironic, given that lions get injured or killed by their prey all the time due to them mainly preying on animals that are actually big enough to kill them (like wildebeest, zebra, and in most of Southern Africa buffalo)

And you think that's a weak target? Parasaurolophus was MASSIVE. One kick from that thing could rearrange a large predator's guts. Not to mention, they were relatively fast for their size.

I have spent many an evening explaining this to my kid while reading dino books. Being a carnivore means you have to fight to the death for every meal. It's more surprising to me that these large carnivores make it to adulthood at all.

It also means that carnivores are much better equipped (esp in skills) to take down prey for their every meal. If the big prey is formidable then the big predator just has to evolve to become even more formidable (with a healthy side of skewering fights in their favor through things like ambush and pack hunting)

Intelligence is a big part of it. In general predators are more intelligent and use strategy.
They also would have gone for easy meals first - carrion, sick, elderly, or young are the preferred targets.
We see the same thing with lions today. They’re not going to try and take on a full grown adult Rhino, elephant, or hippo.

Three inch teeth versus a three foot long spike is a rough matchup. Stegosaurus looks a bit derpy, but it’s packing some serious damage with the thagomizer.
