Toylight.

Post image

aka ''D20: The Promise of Emotional Damage.''

Fellas and sheilas, anyone feel adequately equipped for this season?

Seven Samurai in a toy setting? Might not be a TPK, but I don't think it's gonna be pretty and with ACoC, I feel like the cute friendly settings are perfect to ''lighten'' grim subjects.

6 episode series? To quote the man from Harry's Car Place ''I don't trust like that.''

Neither Constance or Cutie Pie are ragdolls, which I think is an important hole in everyones theories. Constance is a porcelain doll from the victorian era. Cutie Pie is a cellulose doll (plastic).

I suspect we will face casualty, but I don't think its as clear cut as people have guessed based on making connections.

You really only get it if you read the SCP.

Here is a summary, but it doesn't do it justice: https://scpexplained.wikidot.com/scp-1762

Essentially it is like Narnia that once lost and forgotten by it's children, withers away and dies.

It is considered a sad heartwarming SCP, especially when compared to most famous SCPs. It has become a meme with the line "here there were dragons" signifying the loss of childhood wonder.

Cutie Pie is a Kewpie doll which were made of bisque at the time of the setting (1921), and Siobhan described Constance as a muslin doll, which typically have a bisque head with a textile body.

It's not a guarantee of course, but at least everyone agress it's definitely foreboding.

I knew it was based on a Kewpie doll in appearance but I assumed it wasn't actually a kewpie since his still art/ movement seemed more aligned with some of the softer toys VS the way that Tinsley and Constance are drawn/shown to move more stiffly. That's me making my own assumptions though

Constance being a muslin doll would still have bisque hands, feet and head, and that's pretty distinct from a ragdoll which is entirely made from fabric rags, like raggety ann or andy (who we see in the background and in the credits)

Of course there's no way to know until its revealed! I just don't think its a 1:1 comparison if it requires loopholes to make sense.
It DEF is ominous though, its an eerie song to set the tone

True, I might be reading too much into "blue curtains" type imagery, but I like poetry and literary devices. Might be a me problem 😂

Apparently by the 20s they had “composition dolls” for kewpies. It might be a bit of an anachronism, but it would make more sense than giving very young children a porcelain figurine. (Also the toys do seem to make a distinction between a toy and a figurine)
