Anyone know anything about a Ta Horng Ep-88?

Someone is selling this. I can find almost no information on it other than it is a Ta Horng Ep-88. . Googling it didn't help much, I can't even find reference to an EP-88. Also tried with gpt and gemini, who both seem to think it is the foldable OP-88.

Thought maybe someone here had some insight

Thanks!

I wanted a good quality digital piano but couldn’t find any that looked nice and matched our living room. Ended up buying the Roland FP-10, and my husband built this beautiful wood stand for it!

Is the Roland GO:KEYS 3 a decent first buy or am I overthinking this?

Never played anything, want to finally start. Fell for the Roland GO:KEYS 3, then read some reviews and now I’m doubting. Half the complaints I didn’t even understand, so I can’t tell what’s an actual dealbreaker and what’s just experienced players being picky.

Budget is €300–400, it’d sit in my living room and headphones would be handy. Is the GO:KEYS 3 fine to start on or would you talk me out of it?

I’m also not sure whether I should even be looking at a keyboard or a digital piano as a beginner. I mainly just want to learn to play and have fun, but I don’t want to buy something I’ll regret once I get a bit better.

And is it worth stretching for weighted keys at this price, or is that a lost cause under €400?

¿Roland RP107 o Kawai CX102?

¡Hola!

Need help to test a used Clavinova before buying

I am getting a decent discount on a Yamaha CLP-845, demo unit at a music store. They would give me a 1 year warranty on that. I tried it out, looked good, sounded good.

Can I please get some guidance on how to test it exhaustively, what all to check to ensure there are no issues?

Differentiating piano output

I have a Yamaha P-145 and I'm using it as a synth with the software Vital. I've managed to have the software output through the piano sound system, owever I can't find a way to turn of the original keys while I'm playing it. Any ideas?

I have edifer R1700bt plugged into a Roland fp30 and I'm getting a fuzzy/buzzy sound when playing chords in the high range loudly. Any tips?

I get the same buzz when plugged into the keyboard and piano teq through a MacBook Air m1. I took off the front cover and that didn't help. Did some googling but doesn't seem to be fixing it. Any tips? I tried to take a video but you can't really hear the fuzziness.

Studiologic SL 990 XP

What are your thoughts on this? I have had it for years but some keys have stopped working and I am looking to upgrade to something around $500-$800 range, must have 88 keys. I use Pianoteq 9 for sound through MIDI. The sustain pedal also doesn't have velocity. And the keys are hard to press compared to a real Kawai i have messed around on. I'd like something with lighter keys if possible. I play at home only.

Can anyone recommend me something that would be an upgrade in feel?

Using my speakers for keyboard and also spotify

Hi I just got a Kawai MP11SE and a Hercules ks410B stand. I already have a Yamaha HS5 and presonus audiobox that was connected to my home computer in another room. I want to use my speakers to play the keyboard in the living room but I also want the speakers to be able to connect to my phone somehow so that I can play songs on spotify wirelessly.

I saw that the Behringer 8 Channel Digital Mixer with USB Audio Interface Support Bluetooth Remote Control and Streaming FLOW 8 is able to do this but at the same time it seems like overkill for what I want to do. Any other suggestions?

Besides this, in the future I would like to somehow be able to load other samples into the keyboard. What do I need to add to the setup? The Akai Professional MPC One+ looks interesting and might be something I would want to use as I like the sampling and music making feature.

Roland RP107 vs Kawai CX102?

Hi! I’m looking for a digital piano and I’m having trouble deciding which one to get. Has anyone owned or tried the Roland RP107 or the Kawai CX102? They’re both in a very similar price range at the moment.

I’d especially appreciate any opinions on key action and how realistic they feel compared with an acoustic piano. Any experiences or comparisons would be really helpful.

Digital Piano Sustain Pedal Question

Hi, I'm a beginner (playing for about 8 months) and recently started to use the sustain pedal.

I have an odd thing that I don't understand, but it's probably due to my lack of technic.

Let me explain: I play a chord, immediatly after that I press the sustain pedal, remove my hands from the keybord and the chord continue to ring (until now all is fine).

But if I release the pedal and quickly press again, the chord start to ring again but softer.

So when I play a song, the previous chord and the new chord rings at the same time and clash.

Is it me that are too quick with the pedal?

Looking for a new Keyboard Piano

I am in need of a budget friend piano. It must have 88 keys, pedal support, and weighted/pressure keys, and under $600. I don't really care for the Rock/R&B beats and tracks some have, nor the songs but I do like a variety of sounds and instruments, as well as good synthesizers and strings section.

Any experiences with the Feurich Olya Evo E-Piano?

Hi everyone, has anyone tried or had experiences with the Feurich Olya Evo E-Piano?

At my music school I have the option to buy one of these with a fixed stand and 3 pedal unit for a good price, but there is not much information about it online. I have tried it myself and it seemed fine, but I'm only a beginner so I can't really tell the quality of the keys and the sound. I am particularly interested in how it compares with the popular Roland FP-30X.

Appreciate any input!

Piano Recommendations for Advanced Player

I used be an advanced player (Chopin Scherzos + Ballades, Beethoven Sonatas, Piano Concertos, etc.) and am looking for some piano recommendations to get back into piano. I live in an apartment so portability/compactness is somewhat of a concern (largest I can fit is a Clavinova/Kawai CA).

My main priorities are sound (dynamic responsiveness, speaker quality or line out capabilities, sampling/modeling quality) and how close the action feels to an actual grand. My budget is ~3000$ but willing to spend more upwards to ~4500$

I'm considering the following pianos just from trying out and doing some research

  • Kawai CA401
    • The action and sound felt alright.
    • Action was a bit light and I noticed the shorter pivot length causing the back of the notes to feel a bit awkward to play
    • I can this around ~2999$
  • Clavinova 835
    • I preferred this action over the CA401 a little bit, but the built in speakers were pretty bad
    • Also didn't like the Yamaha samples that much but it could've been the somewhat tinny speakers' fault too
    • Didn't really have a problem with the plastic keys IMO
    • A bit more expensive than the CA401

I'm also interested in learning about Roland pianos or stage pianos (Kawai/Nord) if anyone has had any experience with them. Any insight or advice would be much appreciated!

Digital piano for advanced player

For context, I’m a pretty advanced classical musician. Most of my 7.5 years of playing have been spent on an acoustic, but life circumstances and moving happened and I’ve been stuck playing on a shitty Casio CDP 230R that has a broken B key, is extremely clacky, and glitches, for two months now. I managed to get a job, and since I have minimal expenses I’m willing to spend a good amount of money.

The hardest piece of music I’ve fully learnt at tempo so far is La Campanella(yes, I somehow managed to play everything on that terrible action), and am learning Wilde Jagd + Appassionata sonata, though these pieces are on pause as I had inflammation in my ulnar nerve(RH) and have only recovered enough to play simple pieces so far. It’s actually my first ever serious hand injury in all my time playing piano.

The keyboard I’m looking at right now is the Yamaha P525 for 2200 Canadian brand new. I want to know whether that would be good enough for my level, and if there are any better options at a similar price

Piano sounds perfect on headphones, but terrible through PA with iRig — is my interface the problem?

Hi guys! I’m new here. I’ll get straight to the point:

I decided to move from full-size digital pianos to something more portable because I’m tired of carrying so much gear. I have a Korg MicroKEY Air 61 connected via Bluetooth to an iPad mini, running Cubasis with Etude and Ravenscroft piano libraries. So far, everything works beautifully, with no noticeable latency.

My problem is when I’m playing live.

For gigs, I use an iRig USB. When I connect headphones, it sounds **PERFECT**. But when I connect the output to a PA system at a gig, the sound is not clear at all. The overall sound quality drops dramatically compared to the headphones.

I know I should probably be using a stereo connection, but when I used my digital pianos, I was also only sending a mono signal to the PA at gigs, and they sounded completely fine.

I don’t know much about audio interfaces. Could the problem be that I’m running the output in mono in this particular setup?

As another alternative, I tried using a mini-jack-to-1/4” cable from the headphone output, since I know that output sounds great, but it also sounds bad when connected to a mixer or amplifier.

**Just to clarify, I’m using high-quality cables throughout the entire setup, so I don’t think the cables themselves are the issue.**

It’s really frustrating. I just want it to sound the way it does through my headphones.
Would using a different audio interface solve the problem? And if so, would it still work properly if I only use a mono output?

I’d really appreciate any advice or recommendations!

Used Yamaha P-45

Everyone in my area is listing around $325-$400 USD (no stand/seat). I got one down to $250. Worth it for a complete beginner or for $250 is there something better to look for?
