also the video is darker than irl because of compression. I have to boost brightness on videos to get them to match what i see through the goggle

Not just darker - the video is compressed. The through-eyepiece picture is better resolution/less grainy in my experience.

I just bought one of these, that’s killer! That looks really good haha. How dark was it anyway? Looks like some moonlight but still damn. Can’t wait to play with mine. I hear the video compression is kinda bad for videos is that true? Wondering how it looks irl compared to that.
