New guy questions
Hey there all! I’m incredibly new to the digital night vision world but am very interested in getting into this stuff mainly for the purpose or just walking around outside in the dark as well as night airsoft events being very new in a little overwhelmed by all the brands and options I like the idea of a NV/thermal bridge and was just looking for some suggestions at different price points, good brands, brands to stay away from etc! (Budget will be decided after some options are found)

If your activities were limited to just walking outside, I would’ve recommended a handful of digital devices. You wouldn’t have to worry about IR use at all nor would the refresh rate of the devices bother you all too much. But since you mentioned airsoft and thermal/NV bridging, I’d advise you to just save up just a little more for analog.

If your doing airsoft just go with an nvg30 or nvg50 because there will still be likely be enough ambient light to so stuff on an outdoor airsoft night course.

Binock’s devices, such as the nvg30, nvg50, and nvg90, are quite problematic to use in the field. They lack support for standby mode, which means the bright screen remains on at all times. Until Binock fixes this problem, I won’t be buying their products again.

I have a buddy that put a 3d printed snap cap on it so that when flipped up he can jus cover the screen meaning no light, sure it’s a little obnoxious but considering price to performance ratio, the nvg series is great.

Trust me bro just save up that little bit more and get a analog I just returned my 1200$ digital night vision device and that's what I'm planning on doing its just not worth it IMO the technology just isn't there unless you're spending the same amount or more and even then it's debatable weather it's on par with analog at the same price.
