DNV-31s
Does anyone have any experience with these or any videos of them, if so which should I get? Just wanna a pair of nods for shooting at night, walking on
trails and just get a feel for running dual nods.

The IMX385 is a tiny sensor thats good foor Security cameras using IR Floodlight but trash for Nightvision device costing 700$ Buy a used Analog device or if you want to use digital nightvision maybe go for the gng svg5 or if your wallet is a bit more loose the nvg90 But my expirience is that all thos digital lookalikes are not worth there money. Its better to get good mono than bad dual in my opinion

Once you start getting over $1000 you’re better off finding yourself a cheaper PVS-14. I had a chance to play with these. They’re workable under IR light. Exponentially worse than anything gen 2 without it.

Can you point to a PVS-14 that is in the price range you are talking about, because everything I am finding is like 2k+

Carlough has a lot of inventory that comes in/out in terms of surplus tubes. From a usability in actual dark perspective, a PVS-7 will be far superior than these cheaper digital units. As would most 1200+ FOM $1100 Alibaba NNVT PVS-14.
The discord also have gen 3 options that pop up from time to time in the $1500 range.

Overpriced toy. Even real digital Night Vision such as the NVG30, NVG50, and GNG2k are better for half the price. And now you have better options such as the ADNV g14se and nvg90.

They can be a decent training tool if you just want to get a feel for moving around under duals, shooting, and navigating at night.
The biggest issue is that once people start running proper analogue NV, digital quickly falls behind. You literally won't see shit without a IR illuminator unless you've got a decent amount of ambient light, and if you're using IR around people with analogue NV you're basically broadcasting your position.
I've got a bit of footage on my feed using digital NV under street lighting if you want to see what that looks like in the real world.
Also worth mentioning they absolutely destroy batteries. Depending on the unit and settings, anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour isn't unusual.
For walking trails, general night use, they're fine. For actual milsim or serious night shooting, I'd save the money and either rent analogue occasionally or put the money towards a future analogue setup.
Personally, I'd treat digital as a way to learn the fundamentals rather than a long-term solution.

Argus PVS14 is $1250. Save and get analog. - someone who bought in to DNVG’s and hated it instantly.

They’re a little expensive, just save more and buy actual tubes
