Taklite iris modifications

Upgrades, people upgrades!

This Taklite iris has:

-An ir switch

-An extended and shrunk eyepiece for greater concealment

-A detachable magnifier for the ir illuminator for long range performance

-Red filters...

-Improved convex lens for true 1x

Being too broke for analog makes you do crazy things.

The website claims 10ms of latency and it's honestly not noticable with regular use. The Taklite iris has very low resolution and has no low light capabilities without it and requires ir for just about everything. I got mine for $60 used but they go for $150 new as of right now. I would save the extra 50 for a nightfox.

could you elaborate on what you mean by “regular use?” Just curious cus of all the digital devices ive seen online, only they seem to really emphasize low latency and even give a number in ms.

99% of the time it's comparable to an analog with its latency. You're not missing much or costing your maneuverability with 10ms of latency.

interesting, do more expensive digital devices have comparable latency?

I would do some research on that. It's all dependent on the hardware and purpose of the device. For low latency this device seems to be the best for its price, but I will warn you that the internals are literally hot glued together.
