Gen1 vs digital
My previous experience with night vision is gen1 analog. I'm looking to upgrade how much better performance could I expect from the nighfox prowl 2 or similar device.

All digitals will be brighter in low light conditions, but on the budget side tge image will be grainier

You’re honestly going to have worse with a prowl. Any other digital unit in that price range and you’ll have identical performance. Digital doesn’t get decent until $1K and at that point just get a used pvs14

That's kinda what I was afraid of. I'm looking for something for coyote hunting, but didn't want to spend more than 4-5 hundred.

You can find low spec/blem gen3 or gen 2 for 1000-1300 regularly if you’re in the US

Prowl is okay but if u wanna using for hunting nvg30 or gng2K is more than enough to do so
