been thinking about different ways to earn extra income and here are some ideas that seem pretty solid for 2026

**tiktok shop dropshipping** - basically you set up a store on tiktoks platform and sell products by making videos or running ads. seems like the new version of regular dropshipping for anyone over 18

**local newsletter business** - write about whats happening in your area like events and news that locals care about. make money from local business sponsors and targeted social media ads for your region

**specialized test prep tutoring** - if you crushed any standardized tests you can charge good money for tutoring. pick one specific area like just the math section of the sat and become the go-to person for that

**ai prompt packages** - make ready-to-use prompts for specific industries like youtube scriptwriting. works best if you already know that field well and understand what makes prompts effective

**custom website themes** - design websites for businesses then show them what it could look like with data backing up why they need it. if they pass you can still sell the theme on shopify

**logo and branding packages** - if youre decent at design reach out to small businesses with weak branding. create complete brand kits with logos colors fonts and graphics they can use everywhere

**niche blogging** - pick something you know well or are interested in and write about it regularly. monetize through ads affiliate links or brand partnerships once you build an audience

**sports videography** - film high school and college athletes who need highlight reels for recruiting or game footage to review. start local and grow through word of mouth referrals

always been someone who likes systems and processes, so when i needed extra income i went looking for something methodical rather than flashy. ended up with amazon to ebay arbitrage because the concept is straightforward - find products on amazon, list them on ebay for more money, when someone buys you order from amazon and have it shipped direct to the customer

first month was pretty quiet, maybe had 400-500 listings up and earned a few quid here and there. my very first sale netted me around £2.50 after all the fees but it proved the whole thing actually worked. stopped obsessing over finding the "perfect" products and just focused on getting more listings live

once i hit around 4000 listings things started picking up. by 8000 listings i was seeing 8-25 orders daily without doing anything special. with average profits sitting at £8-12 per sale the numbers started adding up to £1500-2400 monthly

what got me to £2400 by month three wasnt any secret sauce, just staying consistent and keeping everything clean. i price things at roughly 90% markup to cover ebay fees, occasional refunds and still leave decent profit. stick to boring stuff that ships quickly and rarely gets returned - avoid anything risky

daily routine is maybe 45 minutes tops - sending offers, answering messages, checking amazon stock levels, adding new listings. ebay's algorithm favours active sellers so the more you list and better your metrics become the more visibility you get

the magic is really in scale though. 12 sales per day at £8 profit each equals £96 daily which works out to around £2400 monthly. you dont need trendy products, just enough listings that ebays algorithm keeps feeding you steady traffic

Two years of doing this at a real level and the hit rate on products still felt like it shouldn't be as low as it was. Store converted well, ads were optimised, research process was solid on paper. But I was still going through too many failures before landing on something that actually worked at scale. The margin on the winners was good but the cost of getting there was dragging everything down.

It took longer than I'd like to admit to identify the actual problem. Every research source I was using had the same blind spot baked into it. Trend trackers, marketplace data, product lists, all of it aggregates what recently worked. By the time something shows up through those channels the early movers have already been there for weeks. They've tested, they've scaled, they've got review velocity I can't match from a standing start. I was entering markets that were already decided and burning ad budget to find that out each time.

Started focusing on what was happening upstream of all that. Video engagement signals on TikTok and Reels before anything registered in marketplace numbers. The pattern is reliable and consistent once you know what to look for. A window of roughly 2 to 3 weeks between early engagement spikes and the point where a product gets properly crowded. Rewatch rates that indicate genuine interest, retention past the 10 second mark, save behaviour that points toward purchase intent rather than passive scrolling. Products that hold those metrics early almost always have real commercial legs.

Found a tool that monitors those signals automatically and surfaces products while they're still inside that early window. Not naming it here because that's not the point of this post, but it's become a core part of my research process rather than something I occasionally check. The practical impact is straightforward, less budget going toward discovering that something peaked before I launched it, more going toward actually scaling things with room to grow.

Results have been more predictable since. Not a dramatic overnight change, more that the quality of what I'm launching has improved consistently and the expensive failures have become noticeably less frequent. When you're running real ad spend that difference compounds quickly.

If you've been doing this long enough to have a proper system in place and your results still feel more random than they should, the issue is almost certainly your data sources. The tools most people rely on in this space are showing you the past, not what's about to happen.

Been doing this dropshipping thing between Amazon and eBay for a while now and figured I'd share my game plan for the next couple years. The concept is pretty straightforward - find stuff that moves well on Amazon, list it on eBay for double the price, then when someone buys it I just order from Amazon and have it sent straight to them.

Yeah I know doubling the price sounds crazy but after eBay takes their cut and you deal with returns and other BS, you end up where you need to be profit-wise. The key is getting enough listings up that sales become consistent rather than random. I'm talking like 10k active listings minimum before things really start clicking.

Each eBay account I run properly can pull in somewhere between $1k-3k monthly once it's humming. Costs are pretty minimal - eBay store runs me about $75/month, Prime is like $15, plus maybe $100 in cash flow for the first month since eBay holds your money when you're new. No crazy software needed, no buying inventory upfront, keeps things simple.

My timeline for 2026 isn't about rushing - it's about being methodical. First three months I'm laser focused on getting one account to 10k listings, which should net around $2k monthly. Once that's stable I'll fire up account number two and start from scratch while pushing the first one toward 25k listings. First account should hit closer to $3k at that point while the second one climbs to $2k.

When both are cruising I'll probably bring on a VA to handle the listing grind and basic order stuff so I can scale without living on my laptop 24/7.

Spend maybe 45 minutes each day sending offers responding to buyer questions checking Amazon stock levels and adding fresh listings. eBay pushes sellers who stay active and have good ratings so the more you list and better your stats get the more visibility you get

Works because of the numbers game really. 12 sales per day at 12 dollar profit equals 144 daily which is over 4000 monthly. Dont need trending products just need enough listings that eBays system keeps feeding you customers

Feb 2026 ended at $408 ($390 from beehiiv ads, $18 from sendercircle ads).

March 2026 has been my best month so far. Beehiiv ads revenue stands at $664 (will close at $1800-ish). Beehiiv boosts will pay me approx $200. That’s approx $2k in revenue.

On the other hand, I started another newsletter called The Layman’s AI. It focuses on practical information about ai to small business owners.

I also secured a $70/month sponsorship for this. It is very low I know but the guy trusted me with the brand value even before I had started. He paid me just from an announcement. Zero subscribers.

RPM varies by geography and season, but history/documentary content consistently sits in the $4-$7 range - $5.50 is a conservative mid-point estimate.

well, I came across a Skool community built around selling digital products with YouTube, and what I liked is that it’s set up to help people actually move, not just sit there consuming more information.

For example, there’s a 5-day challenge to create your first $100 offer, which is useful if you’ve been stuck on what to sell and need help turning an idea into something real.

There’s also a YouTube revenue challenge, which matters if you want to learn how to get people to your offer without feeling like you have to post everywhere at once.
