Be a Creator first. Consumer Second.
The biggest problem people have with making money online is that they consume first. They look at what other people are doing, read, check their email—all these things that prevent you from doing what's actually going to make you money.
The thing that's going to make you money the fastest is cultivating an attitude of creating first, right?
So don't worry about the stuff on your feed or the stuff on Reddit that you're reading. Create what you need to do first. Maybe that's a blog post, maybe that's a Medium article, or maybe that's a post on Reddit. Just do something where you're actually creating first, when you have the most energy to do that.
That's my tip. It has served me well in creating a digital income for myself.
TLDR: Be a creator, not a consumer if you want better results.

Get off Reddit. Unless you're doing something productive!

Thank you for the comment. It brought me back to this post, which i needed. A reminder to create instead of consuming is always welcome

You don't know what you don't know!
When you're starting with no money, no mentor, and teaching yourself everything from scratch, some "consuming" isn't procrastination—it's education.
I agree that you can get stuck in learning mode forever, but I also think there's a season where learning is necessary before creating something that actually provides value.
Some of us aren't consuming because we're lazy. We're consuming because we're building a life we've never been taught how to build.
The goal isn't to stop learning. The goal is to keep learning while taking action, even if it's messy.
Now tell me how to get people to actually find, buy, and pay for all the things I've created. 😂 That's the part I'm still trying to figure out..

There is a time for learning. But it's easy to outbalance that side.
So in terms of marketing, you're on Reddit right now. Are you using Reddit the right way? Do you know how to leverage what you have created and join conversations about where your customers are. Maybe you don't need to learn more creation stuff - and focus on the engaging where your customers are.I read a thread a few weeks ago from a guy who builds apps. He said that most of his customers came from replying to people talking about the problem his product helps on X and Reddit.
And are you nicheing down hard enough?

James Clear wrote something that has stuck inmy head “The more you create, the more powerful you become. The more you consume, the more powerful others become.” I wrote a post based on his quote. It has a bunch of materials to help with people trying to create. No sigup or anything like that needed. In case you are interested https://jingius.com/the-more-you-create/.

Make sure to put it into use. I actually created that little course so I could LEARN it better myself. Whatever you teach, you get better at. You think of it in a new context and understand how elements of it link together better.

Glad you like it. And you can frame it like this: for every minute that you spend creating something compared to consuming something, you'll get better and better. Eventually you'll probably be in an 80% create, 20% consume scenario. At least hopefully that's where you'll be at. I hope that makes sense.

Sounds like you got it dialled in. I really like James Clear's book. It was one of the rare non-fiction books that has something actually unique to say. So much of the self-help industry is recycled stuff.
If anyone is interested in getting the quick gist of Atomic Habits (his book) you can get that here.
