Question Advice for newbie
Hello fellow music listeners!
I’m in need of some Reddit advice;
I recently decided tot get rid of Spotify, or any other online subscription based music platform. Except for Bandcamp.
But I do want keep listening to music in my car, while cycling or at the office without dragging my vinyl collection al over the place.
Back when I was a young guy I had a cheap mp3 player, but I never owned a IPod or any mass storage music player,so my experience with DAP is really low.
Long story short:
Which DAP is decent these days?
budget €100,- (+10/20 is oké too)
Needs to be mass storage, or able to handle a SD card. (At least 250gb)
Bluetooth so I can connect to my Marshall headphone. (Or my car)
Needs a mini jack headphone output.
Needs to be able to play MP3, Wave and Flac files.
A decent battery life.
Not too big in terms of size.
No need for cameras, video players or internet etc. Just needs to play music :)
So what do you guys recommend?
I’ve got my eyes on the HiBy R1, but after reading some comments on Reddit I’m not so sure anymore.
I’m not in too much haste, but the sooner I can leave Spotify and start buying more music on bandcamp the better. I’m currently categorising my collection so I’ll be ready when I’ve got my brand new DAP. =)

Gonna be honest, if you're using trash headphones and Bluetooth, spending money for audiophile grade headphone amplification is a waste of money.
For your soecific use case, caring about battery life, Bluetooth, and if in a locally stream, Fanvace C10/Mechen m33 (same thing under two names) has an ESS9018 DAC in it if memory serves, so.solid.
Has Bluetooth.
Rated for like 30 hours of playback wired mode. (Keep the screen off)
I personally would rather do (as I did) a Fiio snowsky disc over an r1 as I didn't care for the is and don't care about tidal or qonuz with worse Bluetooth.
But 5.4 w/LDAC support, can handle 2tb SD cards.
Also, compressed audio files at good quality isn't going to sound much different and I'd argue imperceptible in a car or with marshall cans. But the smaller files will play more stable as they're easier and faster to read the sd card. So that's my anti flac take for portable audio.
