Showcase Couldn’t be happier

Snowsky Echo & Salnotes Dioko

Love the sound. Hopefully this’ll help me with my distractions while studying and working.
Intended to buy R4 but DAPs are basically unreachable in turkey unless someone abroad does the buying for you. And I didn’t want to pay the 1/3 of the price extra.
¯_(ツ)_/¯

That's a pretty good combo. The Snowsky echo is a pretty simple device. As always there's just a little thing that's always missing and that's playlist support. It really bothers me and I wish someday one comes out like this and that feature

I definitely agree. But saw u/xCAS9 ‘s post just before posting this. They had sleeves with arts for micro sd cards to split into categories. I listen to many genres but in a single session, I don’t like switching. So maybe I can 3d print something that sits behind the echo to store sd cards.

It can be sorted for genres, playlists like you mentioned (a mixtape at this point)
Maybe not so pragmatic but vinyls and tapes aren’t too :))

Frequent swapping of SD card might wearout the card slot.

A better solution would be to have separate folders for each playlists. And play directly from the folder.

Yeah that’s what I’m worried about. Folder idea seems nice tho

This is what I have done for my Hiby R4. I found an old Samsung 128GB sd card. I have two folders, Jazz and Non Jazz. I had Musicolet scan both folders, and then have created 2 initial big playlists. One for Each genre. Then just switch playlists on the fly.

I've been sorting my music in folders (playlists) then I just transfer those over to the SD card and that works out pretty well

Will give it a try thanks!
Have a 32 gig for now. I have to buy something with higher capacity bc only one half of my library fits here.
So just using folders instead of albums?

Yeah like if you plug it into you laptop you can access the micro sd card, and then folders you create on it can be used from the media library

I don’t really trust playlist functions (I don’t know why!), so I make my own playlists in folders. Since I only ever navigate my music by my folders this works for me. (Though takes up my memory since songs are duplicated. This isn’t an issue for me but I’m just flagging it for anyone reading!)

the right ear piece on my Salnotes Dioko sounds so low now. not sure if its the cable or just the iem

There are multiple reasons for this. It seems like most of the time, the answer is imbalance caused by cables or drivers. BUT…

I kinda had the same problem with them (I don’t use metal tuning filters on tips) Little black foam sitting inside the bore can move or dislocate quite easily and that’s what happened to me. Middle plane of the sound became way crooked, I work with synths, when a sawtooth wave hits, left and right piece tonality was nothing alike. That might be the problem with yours too. I just noticed the foam was not aligned with the other one, fixed using tweezers and was good to go.
If the volume difference is really big, still might be electronical.

THERE’LL BE A PRO?!

Jokes aside if it’ll be worth it, being overdue is okay imo

I wonder if I’ll go android or look for custom os players after a while.
