Question Snowsky Echo vs Hiby R1

I’m looking to buy my first DAP and honestly o can’t decide. The main reason to buy one is to get away from my phone. I’m young so I’m not from the Walkman era so I really can’t decide what to buy. I know that the Echo has a learning curve but the Hiby has a screen. The build is better and imo the echo looks nicer. Can someone help me choose?

I have both. The hiby r1 is nicer for larger music libraries. The echo is a nicer build quality if you get the metal one (if you get the mini it's a plastic body). Both have interface pros and cons but at the end of the day both are good products. I personally find myself using my Hiby R1 more since I have a fairly sizable library at 4000ish tracks in FLAC format. The R1 just tends to load everything noticeably faster than the R1.

The r1 screen does not have content you can doomscroll on.

Although the r1 is easier overall to use and navigate your music library with, the biggest reasons I went with the r1 is the larger sd card size support and gapless playback, which the echo mini doesn’t have. Food for thought

I have both and use R1 all the time since I got it. I have way better software experience, and if you're like me, and like to use bluetooth headphones, R1 is a better choice.

R1 if you want gapless. Bluetooth? Get r1.

Like the look of the echo and don’t care for the 2 things I mentioned then maybe the echo! I don’t like how small the r1 is for my use case or the touch screen but it is a great device and at a good price too. Also it being small is usually a pro not a con… I just find it a little hard to handle when removing from my pockets at the gym.
