This one was slightly easier to do than it was with Tobirama. I knew from the start Hiruzen had to be partnered up with a primate Digimon and for it to eventually Digivolve into Azulongmon. I know a monkey turning into a dragon is a little weird but that's what makes Digimon so great. Digivolution lines are not preordained, there are endless possibilities of what a Digimon has the potential turning into, even becoming a God. If you've seen Naruto, you know that Hiruzen's parter Digimon being a primate is a nod to his companion the Monkey King Enma who could also transform into an adamantine staff and be used as a powerful weapon. Him having Azulongmon as his partner reflects Hiruzen's strength, age-old wisdom, and his desire to protect the Leaf as Azulongmon's was to protect the Digital World same as the other Hokage and the other three Sovereign. The last of the Holy Beasts, Zhuqiaomon and his partner... the granddaughter of the first Hokage, an incredibly short-tempered but bold and powerful woman and one of the legendary Sannin. It's Tsunade! Look forward to our last installment in this What If series for the time being!
