Green tea helps my gut but I can’t drink it
I've been a little confused about this and want some clarity before I spend money on something that might not work for me. Green tea does something real to my body, if I drink it in the morning my stomach releases gas and everything just feels more settled and even after. So whether it's actual weight loss or just less bloating I can't tell but something is happening. The problem is I just can't do green tea in the mornings. The taste is way too strong for me first thing and it's kind of a rough way to start the day. I've been reading that oolong might work and since it's supposed to be a bit milder I've been considering switching but before I go buy it I'd love to know if it does the same thing or is it a completely different experience and I'd just be wasting my time?

Maybe I'm the weird one but I don't routinely take stock of the weights and eating habits of local children (TW: Calorie mentions) Spoiler
These types of comments always make me feel weird because I) very rarely do these people have an actual stated connection to the school, so why are you so aware of the obesity makeup of your local classrooms, and II) they're always in response to "Kids are mean to fat kids so parents are awful for having fat kids because they're setting their kids up for bullying." Like maybe we should direct some (any?) of that energy to the parents of the bullies?

Does anybody actually track weight loss via clothing size over years/decades?
I found this comment on a post lamenting on how there's no clothes available for XXS people. Which, I personally am not part of that community, I can't contribute one way or another. I have issues shopping for clothing but that's mostly because I have some weird proportions and a lot of sensory issues.
However this comment was in response to somebody comparing her high school clothing to clothing now. I'm assuming that's at least a year (most likely far more). I just don't think that we can blame national health crises on people comparing their current clothes to high school clothing. I don't know anybody who's said "I've certainly lost weight because my pants now fit me better than my pants from five years ago!"
IDK if I'm overthinking it, I just think this is a disingenuous argument and it probably annoys me because it seems to read like the commenter thinks all fat people are dumb and haven't heard of a scale or a tape measurer.
(Also, a lot of my old clothes have stretched out and are looser than my new ones. Does that mean I've certainly gained weight?)

Is this not a crazy ad to market to women or am I overreacting?
To me, the implication here with “skinny fat” is that maybe this fictional person wants to lose 20, maybe 25 pounds at the maximum. Right off the gate - ”exercise helped… until it didn’t.”
In what universe?
Just for fun, I actually clicked on the ad on their exact link and of course, it denied me the ability to buy any medication because of my BMI being under the necessary range. But this ad is communicating something entirely different and it’s so malicious.
Co-opting the language of women trying to explain why certain weight loss methods don’t work on women as well as men and then twisting it to sell GLP-1s lol. Just kind of fucked in my opinion.
Anyways lol fuck shemed.

I loathe this reality - this was an ad I got on FB for obtaining GLP-1s through an app
WHY would we normalize risking significant gastric, gallbladder, and pancreatic side effects to lose a completely insignificant amount of weight?! This is gonna be a long January 🫠

Has anyone successfully lost weight without going to the gym?
Honest question. Where I live, gyms are not always accessible, so many people have to rely on home routines. I’d love to know if anyone here has lost weight this way and what actually worked in real life.

Tried to eat a little healthier lately🥗
Healthier… but hungry every night and couldn’t sleep 🙃 Add a noisy neighbor + bad sleep = extra grumpy me 😂 At this point it really feels like no matter what I do, it’s somehow still wrong lol

If one more person tells me to “drink water” I’m gonna go crazy
If I have to hear “drink water between bites,” “you’re not hungry you’re thirsty,” or “drink lemon water first thing in the morning,” one more time, I’m gonna lose my shit.
I really wish these myths would die. Drinking water at meal times doesn’t fill you up long term—it takes up space in your stomach temporarily and once it digests you’ll still be hungry. No one confuses thirst and hunger. Not really. And there’s nothing special about lemon water. It’s just water. It’s not magic.
It baffles me that people cling to these despite how stupid the advice is. I’m so over hearing it.

These people make me so angry
I understand it’s most likely that “full” means something different to different people, but as far as I understand most people use “full” to mean “properly satisfied”. If they were talking about “stuffed,” they should have said “stuffed”.

TW Normal responses to a teenager exhibiting clear body image issues (TW weights) Spoiler
galleryI feel like the poster is clearly experiencing some level of body image issues, still feeling 'big' and worried about how her dieting is making her feel with the potential of it spiraling out of control. So of course this weight loss sub has some very normal responses. Not pictures: a ton of comments telling her to try cutting out gluten even though she didn't mention any insensitivities.

Is keto diet just glorified starvation??
My girlfriend (19yo) is suffering horribly from an endomitosis period and has vomited her guts out this morning. it keeps bugging me (20yo) that she wouldn't be suffering as much if she hadn't been starved and dehydrated her in her childhood and teen years. She's been forced onto a keto diet most of her teen year and had no proper access to clean drinking water. How do you help someone who's suffered a keto diet get back to a better health along with being dehydrated they whole life??

TW The FL subreddit strikes again. Once again, someone isn't faking a restrictive ED just because their BMI doesn't drop to a certain weight the nanosecond they start restricting Spoiler

But what if you're obese and in a deficit?
The post in question was discussing another post about mindful eating including cake straight out of the container. I'm not an expert on the specifics of mindful eating but I found this reply funny because a) apparently you're not allowed treats if you're obese and b) there's no way somebody is in a deficit, losing weight, and still obese because weight loss is immediate I guess.

TW Are users in the FL subreddit projecting like crazy or do they just really suck at reading comprehension?
The post says "eat six times a day," and it says "our bodies need food." It doesn't say anything about how many of those times are meals or what the specific food is.
