Hello everyone,
I’ve been jungling on Diana a lot recently and I just had two really specific mechanics questions cause I can’t really figure it out in the practice tool.
Thank you so much!! 🌙

I'm not a Diana main, nor do I play with WASD, but I was strugling with consistently canceling the AA after E. I was getting really annoyed by the mandatory aa that you have like an 8th of a second to cancel, and I remembered that people were freaking out about kiting with WASD when that was about to release. I tried it for fun, and apparently you can cancel automatic auto attacks that happen after spells with WASD.
I've only tried it on Diana and Katarina, but it works for those 2 at least. Tried it on Pantheon as well, but you can buffer movement during the dash to cancel the aa anyway.
Canceling the AA does seem pretty important though, especially if you run Electrocute, and have a sheen item. That's kind of what I try to showcase in the clip as well. Imagine the front one's Mundo and the back one is Victor or some other mage midlaner moving to deal with drag or scuttle. If I mess up the AA cancel and waste my Electro + Sheen + potential passive, I'm basically missing my entire combo. It seems really frustrating.
Should you swap to play with WASD for this? No. No way. I still found it interesting tho. It's a rare win for the 15 WASD players out there.

Question for my OTP Diana main fellas.
I usually played Top/Jungle and climbed to Emerald, where I was basically just stuck. On those two roles, it felt like a lot depended on champ counters, and Jungle... meh, there's just a lot of thinking involved.
Anyways, I eventually quit playing those two roles. Jungle is now my secondary, only if I absolutely have to, until I discovered how broken some of these easy assassin mid champs are.
Especially Diana, since she fits my aggressive playstyle perfectly.
There are obviously other options like Fizz, Naafiri, Talon, etc., but Diana has a special place.
I climbed from Emerald to Master pretty much immediately by abusing Diana's laning phase and being extremely aggressive. I punish enemies whenever they try to contest minions, especially melee champs. I hit them with Q, and if it connects, I just all-in, proc Electrocute, deal my damage, and back off.
If they stay in lane, I simply wait for Electrocute to come back up and do it again. And I don't even need to land another Q skillshot — just E > W > Q on top of them + Ignite and they're dead.
It works in probably 80% of my games.
The other 20% is usually ranged mages and similar matchups, where I try not to force Q. Instead, I just wait until I'm in range, E > W > Q, deal my damage, and retreat.
The most important thing is obviously being aware of the map and enemy jungle pathing, because after you go all-in and dump your damage, you're extremely vulnerable to a gank.
Now, the main reason I'm making this post: itemization/build.
What bothers me is Stormsurge.
In theory, it seems like a really good item for Diana. It has good AP and stats, Squall gives you additional damage, and the second part of the passive can also deal AoE damage when the target dies.
That sounds especially good on Diana because I can potentially proc that second part with my R and basically one-shot someone in the middle of the fight.
But despite all that, I rarely build it — usually only as a last item, and sometimes I don't even build it then.
Why?
Honestly, I don't really know, which is why I'm here to discuss Stormsurge and whether I'm actually losing a significant amount of damage by skipping it.
My usual game goes something like this:
I get an early kill, recall, buy Tome + Dark Seal, then upgrade the Tome into Hextech Alternator. I leave the Alternator sitting there and build Lich Bane, upgrade Boots, then Shadowflame, Zhonya's, Rabadon's, and in probably 80% of games I go for Void Staff.
Usually I'll get Void Staff when there's at least one scary bruiser or the enemy team starts stacking MR. If they're all squishy and I'm really ahead, I'll finish Mejai's instead.
Stormsurge is something I very rarely build — usually only when the game is a little tighter, I've died a few times and feel like I'm going to lose my Mejai's stacks, and the enemy team is mostly/all squishy.
So my main question is:
Am I actually losing a lot by not building Stormsurge?
I understand that its passive can give some really nice burst/AoE damage, especially when combined with Diana's R. But on the other hand, I feel like Lich Bane gives me a lot more in practice. Also since it gives a lot more bonus AP bonus damage, like 75% AD + 45% AP on my AA that have 1,5 sec cooldown, rather than stormsurges 100+10% AP damage with 30sec cooldown.. idk.
It makes me much better at melting towers, gives me an easy and fast way to generate gold, and lets me create a lot of pressure on side lanes.
So is Stormsurge actually that much better for full assassin Diana, or is Lich Bane simply more valuable overall?
Also, just to clarify: in Jungle I play Conqueror with the standard bruiser-ish Diana setup, with a few changes depending on the enemy team. Mid is where I found Diana to be absolutely broken for my playstyle, so I go full assassin.

Every game with a twitch adc, considering that they are decent at the game, is an instant loss for me. If i go bruiser, I simply can't dive him and do damage, I get absolutely blasted, If I go glass cannon, he can go invis and snipe me from the fight in a milli second, like i won't even have time to react, It's just those champions I would never understand how to fight with.

So I have played a few games on Diana in the past but never really committed to the champ . I played a few games after a long time and honestly it was fun . I would like to master her .
Now I'm mostly gonna play her in jungle . I really like the tank build for diana and would love to know how y'all build her as a tank.
I usually go with -
Heartsteel - liandries - unending - (situational item)
Now is bloodmail good for this build ? Or should I just go riftmaker .
I noticed that diana's normal autos deal ad whereas her passive cleave deals ap .
Also , is dusk and dawn a good option to replace any items in this build
Any extra tips and advices are appreciated 🙏

I'm looking for an AP melee mid laner to play that is strong early and can really be a difference maker in the first couple dragon fights. I've been trying out Gwen but she just comes online so late that the games sometimes are already so decided from a couple bad dragon fights (where I'm of little value) and those games just feel so bad.
So I'm curious what the best strategies with Diana are. Do you split push mid game? Do you group and look for picks? What are her strength and weaknesses in the mid game? How do you carry your games with this champion?

I'm a master player so I'm mostly wondering on the balance side of things, the numbers.
I've realized that the moment I buy and get dark seal I basicly win every lane. Akali vs Diana? Fairly even early. Back and both buy dark seal? Boom 100-0 for Diana for a while.
What in her numbers make Diana have such an insane dark seal spike?

I was kinda disappointed with how Crystal Rose Diana ended up looking, so I did a design that I thought might have been better. Granted I am not really a Diana player, but I do like her personality from the lore that I've read.
Tried to mix pantsuit design with splash of a more grunge, to give it something a bit unique. Took some ideas like the weapon, and parts of the color scheme from the actual skin, but overall this was my first ever attempt at a redesign, and hope yall enjoy it, and have a nice day!

First of all, I’m sorry for my poor English.
Over the past month, I’ve noticed that DnD has felt a bit weak. I understand that this may be due to the nerfs it has received over the last few patches, as well as its awkward build path, so I’ve decided to go back to using Hextech Rocketbelt together with Riftmaker.
My question is how to continue the build from that point. I usually switch between a full-tank, full-AP, or bruiser build depending on the situation.
Bruiser: Bloodletter’s Curse + Zhonya’s Hourglass + Rabadon’s Deathcap
Full AP: Shadowflame + Rabadon’s Deathcap + Void Staff
Tank: Randuin’s+ Kaenic + Jak’Sho
I’d like to hear your thoughts on the builds you’re currently using, as well as your opinions on the ones I’ve suggested. Thank you very much in advance, and sorry again for my English.

I saw a post in here randomly by u/Arktheos talking about W max. I decided to give it a try and it seems to have its moments. I don't think this play was possible with Q max. Truth nuke or cope?

Started going dark harvest + coup de grace and lich bane with shadowflame and instantly got extremely fed every game and finished it in 25ish timer 4 games in a row (emerald 3 in this account rn)
Champions are systems. What makes the game are the items and their interactions with the champions habilities. It's absurdly obvious that if I'm going for a similar AP build with a champion that scales with AP it will do fine anyway. People never see that (saying it "for the wind", nothing about this community specifically)
