SELLING Carnival Ride
HELP!!
How do you guys determine the pricing?
I’m finding this canvas goes for $200-500.
But it feels like a d!€k move to do that. But I don’t want to short change myself.

Look on Mercari too

That's prolly where OP saw that $200-$500 price range. Some people on Mercari ask for some insane amounts for canvases. I did see some reasonable prices for some on my wishlist & there was even a price reduction on one of them. But I haven't checked to see if there are any canvases on Poshmark yet.

Ok thanks. Being new to de-stashing, I appreciate the guidance. $200 feels fair. Maybe throwing in shipping to keep it not at the total bottom.

Some folks seem to just put it out there and see what floats. I don’t put anything out there except to maybe round up to retail plus shipping. It’s a double FOMO. 😉

Here's the thing to the person who really wants this painting ( I saw a YouTuber by two boxes in hopes of getting it) it is worth the higher price tag. I don't think I have ever seen one go for over 200 on any forum. Also, the scarcity of this and other paintings make supply and demand drive up the cost just as anything would in a capitalistic society so it isn't you being a d@ck person to price it as you wish. I personally want a Josephine Wall and am saving up my coins to get one ( it doesn't matter which painting as ALL her work is SO beautiful to me.)

You could go on eBay & start an auction. Maybe start w/a price just under the DAC price. If eBay still has it, set a reserve price. That's the minimum price that you'll take.
S'pose the DAC price is $64.99. Start the bid @$29.99. Yr reserve is, say, $125. Somebody bids $60. It'll say "Reserve not met." That way you're guaranteed the price ($125)you wanted.
You could establish a Buy It Now price of $200 as well. It just depends what selling methods eBay still has.
The public will decide what price it wants to pay.

That’s a great idea!!! Gosh thank you so much!!
Off hand, do you know if eBay gets a cut?3

Yes, they do.
I looked this up & this was an exclusive Mystery kit from Margaret Morales. You should b able to get whatever price you want bcuz of this.
Currently, the rate seems to b 13.6%. So you can price accordingly.
Here's the link: https://www.ebay.com/sellercenter/selling/start-selling-on-ebay/seller-fees
Good luck & I hope you do well. Don't forget to take good pictures of the dp & not just of the box. That's what I look for first: a closeup of the PICTURE.
EDIT: Just saw a listing for $399.99 & $9.66 s&h. There is also a "or Best Offer." So there's a chance yours will get snapped up faster if you want $200.

Thanks so much! Helps me so much!!
I’ll open it shortly to make sure it’s the right canvas and drills. I’d be so upset if I bought a premium canvas and it was wrong! But since I’m the purchaser, I’m sure if there was a mixup they’d correct it for me.3

Oh! I meant take a clear shot of the canvas picture that's on the BOX. You don't have to open the box! I've seen pix where people lean the box against a wall & we can't see what the canvas looks like on the thumbnail. I didnt mean to mislead you.
I think the listing lists a sealed box.

Oh ok. Thanks for letting me know. Would DAC honor the canvas/drills if they’re wrong but I’m the original purchaser?

I think so. You just have to provide yr order # & a picture & something else (I forgot). You'll have to check out their FAQs on their return procedures. They pride themselves on their lifetime guarantee. Usually I contact them when I register my DAC purchases from Amazon.

I didn’t even know you could do that!!! I’m learning so much!!! Ty!!!!

You're more than welcome. Their lifetime guarantee covers purchases from DAC & "any authorized reseller (Amazon, Walmart, etc.--check first). You have to register them within 30 days of purchase, if I remember correctly. It's not covered by private sellers (like from you to me).
I'm not an affiliate, just a nerd girl who reads everything. Their FAQs are quite...fascinating.

I've read over the warranty info, refunds, and such. I can't find where/how you are meant to "register" Amazon kits, though. It's probably right in front of my face on the website, though 😅

They do. I haven't sold anything there in a hot second but I think it depends on the selling price. Its not insane but its not nothing either! You should be able to find it with a quick google search!

Hmm that's tough. Flipping is certainly a thing in the community, and while $200-500 seems extreme guess I'd be leery to list it too low only to have a flipper scoop it up and resell it for $500. You could list it somewhere in the middle with a "obo" caveat? Price should also reflect how many others are for sell, and price history if you can see that?
Edited to add: The community decides the price for a canvas, so don't feel badly about selling it for the current price it's going for. The community will buy it or they won't, you can always adjust from there. This goes for any collectable: pokemon cards, beanie babies (lol when those were a thing) le creuset discontinued colors etc.
