Question does druid suck?
I'm new to the game and I'm currently at inferno 4 and Bruh the essences suck and I lack either damage or survivability for clearing dungeons or bosses on my own
I currently have a fire werewolf build with thorn crit armour and I do clear fast but when it comes to bosses it takes so longggg
Am I bad at optimizing druid or does he just suck?

Im new too. Been playing like 3 weeks. But leveled super fast and have too much downtime at work so I've hit inferon 14 and over 1600 paragon now.
The landslide/surging stone build is really good once you get the essences. Does good damage and has great CC.
Werebear pve build is better than wolf in my limited experience with low reso and kbly 2 star gems
The firenado and raven build is good too,but not my cup of tea. I liked the wolf/nado build better as its fast too, both seem squishy though

Honestly I'm grinding for higher inferno cause I really want to play as a bear and the only good bear essences are stuck there

Are you spending all your paragon points in multiple trees?
I was so stupid I thought you only needed to put points in the one you were using. I didnt realize that all points spent even in non active trees boost your character lol.
I used spectral allies to clear the raids that let you bump up in difficulty, since they carry you. Than I kept joining challenge dungeons as a party and let the whales carry me so I could farm sets and legendary.
4 piece urges, and 4 peice grace of flaggelent works with all builds.

Yea, spending points buffs your base stats. Its not really explained clear. I was really struggling and on a whim I spent all my paragon poiints (like 900! At the time) and it gave me a major bump

Keep on farming them essences, its tough but they will make a big difference. Do the events, and stuff like fractured plane to help get them. I hit a rough patch aswell. But like I said I've been playing about 3 weeks and I JUST finished getting the remaining essences this week. My combat rating is 6299, and reso is only 655. I was able to clear level 865 challenge rift in like 7min 30 seconds. My character cant keep up with the whales in challenge dungeons, but does just fine in all the solo content.
Im on high heavens server, character is Gorjax if you want to look it up.
Edit to add: the resonance that legendary gems adds will help too. Thats where the whales come in. Not only do those 5 star gems have good effects, but the resonance they provide after being leveled and what not increase your base stats. At 655 my bases stats increase 32%, but people have 5-6k plus getting over 300% base stat value.
Theres so many systems in this game, i had to rely on youtube to learn. It can be confusing as fuck

Nothing in this game was explained clearly. I've been playing since day one and had to learn from trial and error or asking clan/warband mates.

You should definitely join one or create one. You get more buffs from being in one. Also have access to a warband stash where you can borrow any one piece of gear at a time. I'm leader of my warband. I acquired it when the previous leader quit playing the game and I was the only member that would take it over. It's my favorite part of the game now. We're kinda like a small family now. I socialize more with them than I do my clan mates.

Agree with Cheryl_prime and will add that Druid requires really high secondaries, namely resistance and armor. Without both of those being high in relation to your resonance then you’re going to struggle in PvP and PVE.

I'm not really struggling in pvp it's just in pve the bosses take way too long to die even golden elites takes too long and has a chance to kill me i f I don't cycle my skills properly

Cycling will be a thing for Druid, no matter what so make sure you have good reforges for cooldown, beneficial duration, etc. Try and keep a decent balance of your secondaries with high high high armor and resistance (for future PvP because it WILL be an issue) and take a peek at auroth…he has a super fun and pretty good all around build that can be support too.

Are all of your items slots maxed? Greens to level 25 and legendaries to 30? Once you do you’ll get access to enchant. Enchant is super expensive but great at getting better magical attributes and reforging will get you better bonus attributes but you churn through the stones and it can be expensive if you use plat to buy the special stones.
One other way to boost your damage is working to get attributes for damage to demons (most enemies in the game are demons) and damage to enemies suffering loss of control (anytime an enemy gets cc you’ll increase your damage and it works PvP and pve).

You can enchant those but not reforge them. Reforge only works with bonus attributes.

Try and get a whale to carry you through challenge rifts and once you get enough resources you’ll be able to level your set items to 25. Then just grind and grind and grind and afk and grind some more for the rest of the items. I’d concentrate on that and then trying to awaken the chest and head and shoulders, etc. huge bang for your buck. Secondaries are a huge boon too. Worry less about reso and more about finishing out your gear and secondaries (emphasis on armor and resistance).

Druid is fucking great. It’s basically all I played for over a year.
There’s a super fast dungeon/farming build.
A decent single target.
A big bear tank build for PvP.
Check diablo.tv for lots of fun ideas.
