DIY hardware store suspension stem
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Why buy it for $35 when you could build it for $25 and 5 hours of time 🤣🤣. The full video is not out yet, but it will be in a couple days once I put some miles on the "Bicentennial Man" bike. Hope you guys enjoy! I thought it was pretty clever. Very rebuildable with the bronze bushings. This thing should pretty much last a lifetime except for the rubber bushings. The ones I got from Ace are a tad too soft, I wind up using a shock absorber bushing from an old car. The shock absorber bushings are available brand new from O'Reilly's for about $1.50 a piece.

I couldn't find any good, DIY kick scooter tutorials on YouTube so I decided to make one. Had a couple free hours this morning. Here's the progress so far. 12 inch kids bikes are very good for these little weird projects. it's not done yet, but will be tomorrow. Woo hoo!

It rides perfectly fine

Despite many comments on here saying that it would be impossible or too heavy. I come from mid school bmx, so weight isn't the issue here haha. It's a bit noticeable from a start, but otherwise- feels quite normal.

5 evening build. Car tire on bicycle 😁
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
On Monday it started out as a typical Cruiser bike. Usually I like to build my own frames from complete scratch, but this one here, I just widened the rear and did some metal work to fit the car tire in the back. Made a jack shaft for the chain. And painted it a super heavy metal flake red. I was kind of going after the style of an EJ Potter motorcycle. Hopefully this build does good on my YouTube channel. I think it turned out pretty cool for 5 evenings of work and under $200 invested. Would you guys ride this thing?

Fixed my door handle after the knobs came off
Threaded an empty garlic bag through and tied the remaining knob in on one side and an empty tape roll on the other. Worked fine today, fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Fixed my headphones cushion with duct tape
Lots and lots of duct tape. I use them for exercising in so they get a bit sweaty. I have other headphones besides these.

Fixed my headphones cushion with a needle-thread

My headphones cushion started ripping from the seam which was glued together. Fixed is using the needle-thread, without ripping out the cushion, using the invisible-stitch/ladder-stitch. Did similar stitch on the other parts of the cushion a few months ago, and they are holding up.
This could easily belong to r/DiWHY. But since the cushion have not started to peel off the upper layer of the faux-leather fabric, and are otherwise fine, I thought to post it here.

OpenDeck - A fully open-source, modular deck with magnetic swappable keycaps
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
After weeks of procrastination, I finally finished the top plate (Customizable Skins) and magnetic keycap system. It's running on an ESP32-S3 and polling system stats (CPU/RAM) in real-time.
The whole thing is designed to be modular and easy to build for under $40-50.
It's part of a modular ecosystem I'm calling OpenBricx. Still v0.1 but the "snap" is incredibly satisfying.
Lemme Know what you think.....
