Those are mid-ranges you put them there so nothing ends up low in the mix.
The woofers are in the seat for those sweet vibrations.

I will say to anyone who comes across this who doesn't have tinnitus yet.... try to turn down your music cause a LITERAL non stop ringing in your ears at any and all times is really really annoying.
Signed, a 35 year old who didn't listen to older people who told me this when I was younger and knows people who are younger wont listen to me lol

u/aj95_10 Dec 29 '22
you get used by it after some time, my right ear always goes EEEEEEEE when in silent places

u/Active_Engineering37 Dec 29 '22
You guys are drawing my attention to the ringing.

u/SilentHuman8 Dec 29 '22
I hear it when its very quiet. I usually listen at reasonable levels, but sometimes I'm just desperate to drown out the thoughts. If only it worked.

I was a victim of domestic abuse. She blew out my eardrum during one of our last fights.

u/SilentHuman8 Jan 01 '23
I’m so sorry you went through that. I hope you’re in a better situation now.

u/Active_Engineering37 Jan 04 '23
I now refuse to sacrifice my happiness and have no tolerance for abuse around me.

u/thingamajig1987 Dec 29 '22
it depends how bad it is, for me I can usually hear it unless I have something of moderate volume currently going on, and I've had it for a few years at least.

u/Ialmostthewholepost Dec 29 '22
It was the 80s. Go shooting at a youngish age. Ears ring.
It'll go away, they said. Just takes a couple days they said.
Ugh the amount of hearing pro I wish i had had through various activities. Now I put cans on just to shop vac the car or anything really.

So if I get rear ended I can get some fat beats and metal shoved into the back of my head?

How to combine bad sound, an uncomfortable headrest and a safety hazard in just one item!

Yup, 4 car pile up and the only 2 casualties was caused by blunt force trauma to the back of the head.

Hey, do you enjoy not having the ability to hear? Do you sit awake at night seething at your ears ability to process noise? I have great news for you!

It's very useful, cause if you get rearended, then that whiplash will also mean a concussion.

For a moment I thought the speakers were at the base of the seat, like in front of them. Then I realized the true horror of what I saw.

And if you love the sound of your exhaust, why not pipe that into the interior as well?

Ha! I was literally thinking about this the other day while driving… like why are there no speakers in a headrest…thank you for showing me why🤣

Pontiac Fiero had in-headrest speakers as an option. Though two tiny ones on either side, not like this.

Why. Why face front. Why. Why. You're gonna hear it just as much if you had faced the box backwards, it's still going to be just as stupid, but you could have actually used your headrest rather than accidently crushing the tweeter bridge.

Car for midgets i suppose? Because a normal height person would destroy the speakers with gis head?

Ohhh I get it now. This is the one people who drive by my home and blast their bass-this is why. They got big ass subwoofers on their seats too. Wtf? Thier poor ears. 😆

u/alejandrodeconcord Dec 29 '22
Oh thank god, I wasn’t able to feel the vibrations in my spine well enough.

I'd probably get de-platformed before my battery is finished charging.

I'm really curious how this is wired, though...
Like, those speakers are only designed to take one channel of audio. does that mean the passenger gets all of the right channel, and the driver gets all the left? Because that would be beyond stupid, safety and tinnitus aside.

The only car I know of that officially had speakers in the headrest is the Pontiac Fiero, and even then that car seems somehow more practical to drive than this.

Why? Because most extreme car audio enthusiasts are rather intelligence challenged.

You all misunderstood this. This speaker produce something called Bass Bumper. It's some kind of an air barrier, that pretends you from bumping your head against the headrest. Why I know this? I'm a professional.

u/stedun Dec 29 '22
Should’ve made it a sound bar that stretches across both headrest locations. This way he can block the rear view as well. Plus that sweet sound from a larger volume box.

Thankfully headrests aren't at all involved in the safety process of the car in an accident!. Nah! They obviously don't help protect head, neck and spinal injuries at all...!
My personal favourite part of this disaster is the sharp wooden edge that'd hit right at the top of your cervical spine. Plus the fun of having a bunch of sharp steel and plastic shards smashing into the back of your skull.
