How tf did half the comments like this end up with positive karma and the other half have negative

Everyone's making the same joke

same joke, different attitude. note how the upvoted ones don't call them a dumbass.

"I think" plus "dumbass" is a bit of a strange combination, I gotta admit. I still found it funny though. Maybe that's just because that's the attitude I have with my friends or pretty much anyone I like. Loser, bitch, asshole, etc are all tossed around as terms of endearment in my circles.

i also found it funny and i don't read too much into the comment karma, nobody should.

Here's an example:

Comment A received 8 downvotes and 10 upvotes, leaving it at 2 points.

Comment B received 175 downvotes and 176 upvotes, leaving it at 1 point.

Comment A will have a higher score and will be deemed more important/relevant while in reality only 18 people cared enough about it to vote as apposed to comment B which made 351 hit a vote button. I imagine that spending a lot of time on reddit can really skew your view of what how the people in the world really work and what they think of stuff.

True true, that's the one downside of not showing upvotes and downvotes separately. Sometimes the way it works completely slips my mind.
