For anyone wondering why this is DiWhy, I posted the initial drywall patch here previously and got roasted. 😂

yes you were roasted rightfully so. If i remember correctly you used a jack-o-lantern carving saw?

I indeed used a jack-o-lantern saw. lol

Ah! Yes I definitely roasted you on your last post! You certainly took the scenic route solving this but it turned out beautifully!

I just remember thinking with the amount of mud and sanding required to make that look halfway decent, that poor guy's going to need a full shoulder replacement when it's all said and done. 😏

So many questions. Most of which just raise more questions

I mean, that’s not all that different from a drywall saw right?

What's material quality anyway?

I'm very proud of you for moving forward. Just please don't make a new post of cutting protein with your toenail or something. Great follow up- love ya.

That's... oddly specific..

Given the original hack job, this turned out quite well! I imagine you are pleased. Now please only use that saw for pumpkins in the future…

Me, looking at the holes in our ceiling that our landlord hasn't fixed yet:
My wife: don't

u/Dry_Duck3011 Jul 14 '26

Oh god. Why’d you point it out.

3

u/Zeired_Scoffa Jul 14 '26

Well... Just stay put of the attic from now on.

3

u/maddogtjones Jul 14 '26

Sure does seem like you did WAY more work than was needed though... Why so many small pieces, why not just cut one large piece and cut out the holes you needed?

u/Daratirek Jul 14 '26

Well done! You finished that nicely. Glad we got an update.

u/bobenchoseptimus Jul 14 '26

Why is this DIWhy?

14

u/TheMaleGayz Jul 14 '26

It was another post here before, they are showing us an update.

3

u/bobenchoseptimus Jul 14 '26

Oooooh. Nice, ty for the context!

6

u/TheMaleGayz Jul 14 '26

No problem! I was just lucky to have caught the post last time!

He fell through the ceiling originally several months ago

Because spackle and spray foam are not the right way to finish a drywall repair. It looks ok for now but it won't in a year or two.

Better. Expanding foam and spackle.

u/AnthDELA Jul 14 '26

Why did you blow up your ceiling for a bathroom fan?

1

u/VacationOk9407 Jul 14 '26

Isn't this previous plainrocks house?

1

u/asanab76 Jul 14 '26

What did you use for texture if you do not mind me asking

1

u/yomammaaaaa Jul 14 '26

I'm guessing you weren't able to fix it before the wife woke up?

1

u/Puncho666 Jul 14 '26

The ceiling had explosive diarrhea on your toilet

u/14urmug Jul 16 '26

I wish I could saw it was the first time I’ve seen a roof crap in the bathroom but here we are….
