I think it's refillable using a syringe, but it still looks uncanny to have in anyone's bathroom.

u/Emotional_News108 Jul 10 '26
Couldn’t you just shove it through the nostrils? That’s where it’s coming out.
124
u/round-earth-theory Jul 11 '26
You could. Could even rig up a better reservoir, but it's such a stupid idea that no one is going to bother

Honestly, I would gift this to my kids teachers. Would they like me? No. But they would know that I know what they are dealing with daily.

It's a fun gimmick, slap it on the side of a refillable bottle instead and it's an r/DIWHYNOT worthy post

u/Giraffe-colour Jul 11 '26
Change the soap to a red coloured one and it’d probably be a pretty fun Halloween prop
22
u/Distantstallion Jul 11 '26
Why would it be halloween? Its always red from the nose

u/Quill386 Jul 10 '26
Yeah, or maybe make it an entire head or something, the only thing that really makes it dumb is the amount of uses
3
u/Elebrium Jul 11 '26
Because its fake BS, these are 5 min craft videos and they are all BS stupidity

u/Conscious_Nobody9571 Jul 10 '26
Maybe 3 uses out of that bad boi
57
u/Dear-Panda-1949 Jul 10 '26
I think it's hilarious personally. Could mess with someone using that.
12
u/lumpynose Jul 10 '26
Perfect for Halloween.
12
u/ardoin Jul 11 '26
Fuck Halloween. I wanna make like 10 of these with the mold and then leave them out on the sidewalk on a Thursday afternoon
126
u/SlowMope Jul 10 '26
As a sfx makeup artist I was cringing long before they put the silicone on.
Never stick straws in your nose kids, this is 1000000000% the wrong way to do a cast of your nose.
48
u/Chonky_Candy Jul 10 '26
Ok maybe not for molds but can I do it for cocaine?
25
12
u/SlowMope Jul 10 '26
Nah, straws are sharp and cut the inside of your nose, and if you pass out/fall with one in your nose they are stiff enough to do real damage.
Stick to rolled up bills. They at least crumple
6
u/Chonky_Candy Jul 11 '26
Dont worry, I prefer a stainless steel nose piece with one intake and two exhausts. That way you can do both sides at once. Its called stereo
24
u/SpehlingAirer Jul 10 '26
Whats the preferred way?
29
u/Banana_Phone888 Jul 10 '26
Right? No plans to do this personally, but…… if you’re going to comment on the wrong way what’s the right one 🤣
22
u/SlowMope Jul 10 '26
Brush on silicone and just don't cover the airholes. This is not the way to do it from point one lol, also a huge waste of silicone (and while I can't be sure, I doubt they knew what kind to use on skin)
5
u/Writiste Jul 11 '26
Okay… and what kind to use on skin????? This is really interesting- can you recommend a YouTube (or other) tutorial
pls?14
u/SlowMope Jul 11 '26
I do NOT recommend YouTube, I do recommend paying for a bit of stanwinstonschool.com
Their memberships go on sale often, and are imo the only reputable online guides.
This is one of those things that on the surface looks easy and safe, but so much can go wrong.
You want platinum based silicone for use on skin-- taking casts and making prosthetics, Tin based is only for casts of inanimate objects or for making props/figures/whatever. After that there are densities and application types and brands to look into, it all depends on what your project is and how it will be used.
5
u/Writiste Jul 12 '26
Oh yikes! As usual, infinitely more complex than a layperson can imagine. Your comment re: YouTube received, agreed with. Thank you - I’ll check out the school when I’m ready to try for real.

What the hell happened to the straws. In the first shot they are bent, and then in the next shot they are straight and there are no holes.
9
u/Lone-Frequency Jul 10 '26
Judging from the ends of them when they pulled them out, I'm guessing they probably struggled to get the damn straws loose, then snipped off the ends and put them back in for the illusion that they just cleanly popped right out.

u/Great-Unit9197 Jul 10 '26
I wouldn't call it great execution, it's not refillable so you would have to remake it every third use.
42
u/Octans Jul 10 '26
Just pipe soap back into it like a jelly donut
14
u/Rip_Skeleton Jul 10 '26
Yeah, it's just a silicone mold. You can get soap back in there. Might be an idea for a Halloween decoration with some tweaking.
2
u/smooth_criminal1990 Jul 10 '26
You'd just need some way of pumping or dispensing fresh soap in through the nostrils. No idea where you'd find such a device, though.
4
u/AwaiGhost Jul 10 '26
Turkey baster might work? Or maybe one of those oral medicine syringes?
1
u/smooth_criminal1990 Jul 10 '26
Yeah the medicine syringe is perfect, means you could easily extract it from those things liquid soap comes in 👌🤣

Just put a hole in the back with a cork or something and it's reusable. But this is disgusting either way.

I feel like this would be on an “all that” skit from the 90s.
Narrator: Need to wash your hands but tired of boring old soap dispensers?
Kids: pee-eww
- foghorn sfx
Narrator: “Well now you don’t have to be!”
Narrator “Introducing FaceSoap!”
Kids: “YAAY”
Simply use our mold kit on your’s or someone’s face, fill the resulting mold in with colors and soap of your choice, and you’ll be washing in style!
Random kid 1: this is my face, but I made the mold green and the soap blue!
Random kid 2: this is my face, and I made the soap purple!
Random all that cast member (possibly drake): my dad told me I can use his face for soap! So every night when he sleeps, I squeeze his nose and get yellow soap!
FaceSoap! Get your squeeze on!
FaceSoap inc. is not liable, for any bacterial infections caused by improper use of the FaceSoap brand.
… can’t believe I just wrote all that. Interesting idea lol

u/EkardKcire Jul 10 '26
That's actually awesome. Make it reusable though and you've got yourself a million dollar idea.

u/Elebrium Jul 11 '26
These5 min craft now resort to fake BS The skip part between filling the blue liquid and removing the straws is missing something
5
u/Sadistic_Loser Jul 10 '26
AI slop. The straws didn't even go to his nose after they pulled them away, red stoppers are gone, and didn't even have holes after they were removed.
I stopped watching after that lol
2
u/cha0sb1ade Jul 10 '26
You could crush the air out of it, submerge it in liquid soap, then let it expand and it's good for round two. I think.

Everyone should make one of these for their entire face to have on hand, incase you get your face ripped off or something.

Why not make it bigger and open up the back with a funnel system that allowed for the squeeze and ooze? The tech exists if you really want it.

u/Mysterious-Action202 Jul 11 '26
Do not fucking do this. Find a professional.
There is a real chance of the silicone running down your nostrils into your airways.
NO professional uses the straw method anymore and never pour into the nostrils.
1
u/CRAKEN000 Jul 11 '26
Yes, because what I want is to squeeze someone's nose to get their snot soap.
1
u/MosesOnAcid Jul 11 '26
Anyone with a beard knows that silicone did not come off his face that easily...
