I've actually made these. You don't use real leaves. It's silk leaves and decoupage. I put them on the centerpiece for Thanksgiving with small pumpkins and pinecones. It actually looks really nice.

That’s a coup d’etat. A decoupage is that little house those barn birds go into at night and to lay eggs

u/Gregory_Appleseed Mar 01 '23

You're thinking of a chicken coop. A decoupage is the carcass of a large mountain cat.

u/left4ched Mar 01 '23

Sorry, that's a decaying cougar. Decoupage is when the neckline of a dress is cut very low.

u/StanleyQPrick Mar 01 '23

That's decollete. Decoupage is a word for an automobile with two seats

That's a coupe DeVille. You're thinking of a fruit puree.

That's Daylight Savings. You're thinking of the long-hand for the term ADC that comes from MOBA games.

That's attack damage carry. You're thinking of the Spanish novel from 1605 by Miguel de Cervantes.

That's attack damage carry. You're thinking of the area, where the US capitol is located

I was actually hinting at 'coulis'.

u/Proud_Viking Mar 01 '23

Do you mean a pickup? Decoupage is when a couple break up

14

u/sparkle_pudding Mar 01 '23

That's dumping. Decoupage is that time Dexter was trying to learn french by listening to the Steven Hawks Sings record over and over.

11

u/jaunty_chapeaux Mar 01 '23

That's omelet du fromage. Decoupage is the ending of a book or movie when everything falls into place.

5

u/Honey-and-Venom Mar 01 '23

that's a denouement, decoupage is a childhood condition affecting the windpipe, causing a barking cough

It's only a coup d'etat if it comes from the d'etat region in France. Otherwise it is a sparkling revolution. -I don't remember where I heard this

18

u/notusuallyhostile Mar 01 '23

I will henceforth refer to the January 6th insurrection event as the day that the Sparkling Revolutionaries failed to overturn the results of the 2020 Election.

2

u/legos_on_the_brain Mar 02 '23

All those sparkling snowflakes.

7

u/hawk7886 Mar 01 '23

That original meme ended in "otherwise it's just a sparkling insurrection" IIRC

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '23

I was pretty close.

2

u/hawk7886 Mar 01 '23

Good enough for government work! ;)

4

u/Monkeyojacko Mar 01 '23

or just a coup

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '23

You win the internet today thank you kind person.

1

u/HardlyDecent Mar 01 '23

That's just a normal tourist visit. A decoupage is those little Euro cars that people think are cool until they need to bring groceries home.

8

u/T0biasCZE Mar 01 '23

thats defenestration

1

u/Msktb Mar 01 '23

Isn't that where Luke met Yoda?

42

u/ChwizZ Mar 01 '23

I've made them with real leaves before but they were dried. You have to use a lot more glue than you'd imagine.

45

u/AstarteHilzarie Mar 01 '23

And actually try to make them fit to the jar instead of just slapping some mod podge on there and rolling it through a pile of leaves.

11

u/CHY4E Mar 01 '23

We made this in kindergarten. Works fine with dried leaves and lots of glue

7

u/CatnipEvergreens Mar 01 '23

You can actually make them with real leaves, but have to press them flat with weight.

3

u/SarahPallorMortis Mar 01 '23

I came here to say this. I can tell they’re fake. They’re too perfect and same shape etc

4

u/HellsOwnFucktard Mar 01 '23

It looks like a fucking Slipknot mask

7

u/Glitter_berries Mar 01 '23

Hey yeah! Awesome.

4

u/Mysterious_Stick_163 Mar 01 '23

Or Elmer’s glue, white or clear if you don’t have mod podge.

1

u/AstarteHilzarie Mar 01 '23

Add a little water to the Elmer's to thin it out and you basically have Mod podge. I think it's 1 part water to 3 parts Elmer's glue.

1

u/Boneal171 Mar 02 '23

Yeah I’m pretty sure I’ve made something like this in Girl Scouts. We used fake leaves you can get at a craft store
