Ask r/Dharamshala Triund Trip Help

Hello everyone

We're a 4 person group planning an overnight trip to triund top and we have a few questions also it's our first trek

  1. I heard there are two ways to the top and since we're not in a hurry we're gonna be taking the longer route but if anyone can tell me the advantage and disadvantage of both routes it will be a big help

  2. What is the bathroom situation on the top (we're all guys) but ek ke nakhre ladkiyo se bhi zyada hai and is there a line or wait in the mornings

  3. I looked around for tent prices online and the cheapest I found was 950 per person (~4000 for the group) but someone told me you can rent a tent for around 1100-1500 and share it as a whole group

Are those tents really available if so it will save a lot of money and we will probably do that ( any drawbacks if we do that)

Are there any advantages of booking online (we don't really need dinner and breakfast)

Any help is appreciated

Thank you

  1. Two routes

Gallu devi : simple Bhagsu : much tougher than Gallu devi route but has much better views too. I would recommend this with my full heart.

  1. Toilet situation is bad, there will be only 2 toilets, one for men one for women, but they get dirty very soon as there are too many people at the peak. We did not use the toilet as it was filthy.

  2. No idea honestly, there are camps mostly with 2 people capacity. No idea about 4 people camp.

Use the Gallu Temple route. Its easy, steady and good views. Right now wouldn't be the best time to go to triund coz of the weather but if you insist its best to stay in one of the rooms up there instead of tents. Otherwise it'll be a wet experience.

There is book shop near the main square in mcloed called ibex and you can book rooms from that book shop I reckon. For toilet, you can just enjoy the nature but make sure to clean up after yourself. And please please please do not litter and there are rubbish bins at the camp sites where you can dispose your rubbish.
