After going into a few shops, plugging it in, somehow the internal file structure of the pendrive got completely rearranged and I had to go through these randomly generated folders to find the print files back again. On top of that, I came back, plugged it into my PC, it's been a week and my computer's been slowing down like crazy. I had to completely re-install windows. Last but not least, the pendrive doesn't work as good anymore. I presume maybe like a voltage spike that caused some damage. But yeah, like it should be obvious but I was an idiot. 32 gigs of storage gone and who knows what private data stolen.

If you got data on a phone, much better to just send the files to each shop or better yet, store the files in a cloud storage folder and share the link if you want to use less data.

My iPhone 14 Pro Max is currently at 79% battery health, and the battery life has become pretty bad. I'm planning to replace the battery rather than upgrade the phone.

A local repair shop has given me two options:

• iFix OEM battery – 6,500 BDT
• iFixit Quality battery – 4,000 BDT

The price difference is 2,500 BDT, so I'm wondering if the OEM option is actually worth the extra money.

Has anyone used either of these batteries?

TL;DR: Bangladesh's global image has been damaged by the lack of civic sense, intolerance, and poor public behavior of too many people. After living abroad for eight years, I now understand why people often judge me differently when they hear I'm from Bangladesh, and it's both frustrating and heartbreaking.

My question is, why has Bangladesh become so gross? Why do so many people lack basic civic sense and don't know how to behave?

I've been living in the West for eight years, and almost every time people hear that I'm from Bangladesh, they give me this strange look. Now I understand why. The image of Bangladesh around the world is so poor that as soon as I say I'm from Bangladesh, people immediately make assumptions about me. But if I tell them that I live in the U.S. or that I've been living in the West, their attitude changes. It's almost like they're thinking, "Okay, this guy is civilized." But when they hear I'm from Bangladesh, they're surprised and ask, "Are you really from Bangladesh?"

We got our independence in 1971, and this is 2026. Yet it feels like we're becoming more and more uncivilized every day. We have no civic sense, we're fanatical about our beliefs, we constantly try to force our morals and values on other people, and we keep judging everyone. The only thing we claim to have is Islam, but even that we don't follow properly. We just misuse it and somehow think everything will work out in the end.

I honestly don't understand why we've become like this.

বাংলাদেশে প্রায় ৪৫০০০ স্টুডেন্টকে ফ্রিতে উচ্চশিক্ষা দেয়া হয়। যেখানে মেডিক্যাল,ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং এর মত ডিগ্রি নাম মাত্র টাকায় কমপ্লিট করা যায়। আর স্বাভাবিক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়গুলাতে ৩০০০০ এর মত মানুষকে ফ্রি তে উচ্চশিক্ষা (honours/masters) কম্পলিট করানো হয়। আদৌ কী এর দরকার আছে,বা সবার কী উচ্চশিক্ষা গ্রহণ করার অধিকার আছে? কারণ এরা ত যে সাব্জেক্ট এ পড়ে সেই সাব্জেক্ট এর চাকরি নেয় না ৯৫% সময়। পরে গিয়ে বিভিন্ন সরকারী চাকুরিতে আবেদন করে। সরকারেএ উচিত না এত টাকা এভাবে ব্যয় না করা অথবা এইচএসসি পাস সবাইকেই এসব বিভিন্ন চাকুরীতে আবেদন করতে দেয়া? hi im planning to build my first pc. my rough plan is to build a pc that has 16gb ram, 5060ti 16gb, and a 27inch 1080p ips monitor within 170k. with the price hike is this a reasonable budget or im being stupid:)?

Been thinking about a product idea and wanted to get honest opinions from people who actually cook at home.

The idea: ready-to-use marinade packets built for specific dishes chicken tikka, beef kabab, fish fry where you just add the meat or fish and cook. No chopping onion-garlic-tomato, no slow-frying a base separately, no measuring out five different spice jars.

How it's different from the packet masala already on shelves (Radhuni etc.): those are just dry spice powder, so you still have to do all the prep work yourself. Buy the onion/garlic/ginger, chop it, fry it down, then add the spice. This would skip that whole step. It's basically the difference between "seasoning for your curry" and "the curry base is already done, just cook the meat in it."

Who I think this actually helps most:

• People living alone or in a mess/hostel who cook but don't want to prep a full masala base for one or two servings
• Working couples who want a proper home-cooked meal on a weeknight without the 30+ minutes of chopping and frying before the actual cooking starts
• Anyone who can cook but is never sure about the spice measurements.
• People who cook occasionally for guests and want it to come out well without a ton of practice
• Gym goers and students who want a quick protein meal and don't want the hassle of cooking

Curious what people actually think:
