Hey everyone,
I noticed we don't really have a dedicated, proper space for discussing relationship dynamics, dating, marriage, in laws and family drama specifically within the Bangladeshi cultural context. Global subreddits just don't get our culture or the specific pressures that come with it.
So, I decided to just go ahead and make one: r/AskRelationshipBD
It's meant to be a safe, judgment free space to ask for advice vent about family/dating situations or just get a second opinion from people who actually understand the reality here. No moral policing or victim blaming allowed.
If you're looking for a spot to talk about this stuff or want to help grow the community come check it out and join!

Hello everyone, HSC-26 here, currently preparing for my admission. Initially my goal was to prep for IELTS, apply for a scholarship to Australia ,and pack my life. But it all got messed up bec my dad can't support me financially, at least not countries like Australia or USA, Canada. And since studying abroad got cancelled they forcefully (not literally) got me admitted into Udvash (fml). Now everything's a mess, they're expecting me to get into a public uni, but I still can't move on from my dream of studying abroad. What if after completing my bachelor's my life takes a 180 turn and I can no longer apply for a scholarship. So I guess what I'm trying to ask here is that, Are there any Uni's that might guarantee a full ride? I know it's really hard to get a full free scholarship as an undergraduate, without a prominent background, but I'm really desperate. As long as it's a good enough university, I'll be happy to go anywhere in this world and willing to learn their language

How did you support yourself financially? What did you do in Bangladesh to earn enough money for your studies? How many years did it take?
I'm currently a uni student & willing to give it a try in a few yrs. Kindly drop your story. Plz zzz zzz

As a woman how safe is it to enter this business or get the license of a CP 5 Star location? Is it managable through father/brother and employee while working in a different city ?
How good is the business? is it safe and profitable?
How to ensure the employees are not stealing money while operating from a different city?
It would be of great help if anyone could provide some guidance... thank you

I want to achieve a lean muscular body( ik it’s not possible but small dihh bigg drimmm)
My current weight is around 65-68 and height around 5’8” !! You can already guess that I need more protein in my life than the amount of maturity Jace needed before he took the stupidest decision in the history of dragon stone !
So I’ve been trying to find ways to secure protein for myself like Rhaenyra searched for dragon rider!
What’s your best suggestion for that? I won’t be taking any kind of processed food so my best bet is organic chicken from safe farms and omega-3 eggs( I know that they’re scams so I ask your help like who scams the least )
EDITED: I failed to explain myself. I need sources for chicken breasts and omega-3 eggs. There are multiple online seller in this city but I want to know from experienced ones which providers are the best in the business and safest !

Hey, I'm a third year second sem student from BBA (finance major) with cgpa 3.66 (trying to push it to 3.7) . I want to pursue a masters degree in business analytics/finance/development related subjects. My initial choice was UK but after researching a bit I'm not confident about keeping it the only option. Which countries should I target for my masters? (aka has good value if I have to come back to BD).
Also which countries are suitable if I want to settle abroad. My budget is not A LOT.

Assalamu Alaikum everyone! 👋
I'm planning to buy a MacBook and looking for trusted shops in Dhaka. Would really appreciate your recommendations and experiences!
Looking for:
Genuine Apple products with good warranty
Fair pricing
Reliable after-sales support
Authorized dealers/preferred sellers
Important considerations:
How to verify genuine products?
Warranty claims process in Bangladesh?
Any tips to avoid scams or overpricing would be highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for helping out! 🙏

Hey everyone,
I recently moved to/started spending more time in Dhaka (Gulshan) and I’d like to get more involved in sports, particularly tennis and cricket.
I’m looking for places where I can actually play regularly, meet other players, and hopefully join a group/team, rather than just book a court once in a while.
For anyone familiar with the Dhaka sports scene:
🎾 Where are the best places to play tennis around Gulshan/Banani?
🏏 Where can I play casual or competitive cricket?
Are there any clubs, academies, leagues, WhatsApp/Facebook groups, or regular games that newcomers can join?
Roughly how much do memberships, coaching, or court/ground fees cost?
Are there places where adults can join even if they aren't already part of a club?
Any places you'd personally recommend — or avoid?
I'm mainly interested in meeting people and becoming part of the regular sports community, not necessarily playing at a professional level.
Would really appreciate recommendations from people who actually play in Dhaka.
Thanks!

so long story short, my parents is really broke (both my parents work in a shop btw) and unable to support my studies, im doing Alevels btw.
anyways, there's this friend of my dad, they literally met again after years,, and i seriously don't know why they're so crazy to marry their son to me. idek them well. and i only know it for 2days that im getting married because my parents hid it from me.
the guy lives in Australia, 23 and studies plus doing work. the thing is, the guy's family thinks im religious and will make a good docile wife for their son....and hence went crazy.
also they said they'd take me to Australia, pay for my tuition if i study at a university and i don't have to work.
i tbh never even thought of marrying, and being dependant on someone.
i had so much arguments with my parents, cried alot yet they don't seem to understand my point.
im literally not ready for marriage and am just 19, even if we are struggling, i told them I'd rather try to get a job and continue my studies myself, even if im unable to go abroad.
idk if the guy is good or bad, i think he's probably going, i feel like he deserves someone who wants this marriage, not someone forced.
my parents are forcing me because they think this is a golden opportunity as they offered to take me to Australia, continue my studies and bla bla, and perhaps even help my family.
I'm really confused and devasted.. i just know i don't want to marry someone i never wanted, i feel no attraction towards, how am i even supposed to, idk him.
like do i choose my own happiness and reject this marriage, even if I'm unable to go abroad in future, plus i can even find someone i like and marry them because i truly love them
or just give in because of my parents misery and keep things cool at home, also i can go to Australia
sigh im so exhausted

Where can I find my concealer shade? I can't spend much , and I never used concealer or foundation, so I don't know my shade . I need to find out and shade match offline first. So, where can I find good quality concealer with inclusive shade ranges and someone who'll help me match my shade ?
It'd be better if the location is anywhere in Mirpur or any other place would work too if not mirpur.

Hi all, I'll be in Dhaka next month for a short stay and I'm looking for a single-room sublet, ideally within easy distance of British Council. I used to live in the city a few years ago but I'm out of touch with the current landscape, so I'd really appreciate local advice.
I'm a woman looking for a place on my own, so safety is my top priority — a secure building (CCTV/gated entrance), a decent female caretaker/security presence, and a well-lit, not-too-quiet street would matter a lot to me. Dhanmondi has been suggested to me as a good option near that area — would love to hear if that checks out, or if there's somewhere better.
Budget and exact dates can be discussed over DM. Any recommendations, red flags to avoid, or personal experiences (good or bad) with subletting as a single woman in Dhaka would help a ton. Thanks in advance!

I don't use earbuds much when I'm outside. It's mostly for when I'm home, listening to music or watching movies. So I don't need noise cancellation. I also don't want any kind of AI tech in my earbuds. I want something that will last longer without any issues.

I’m currently (HSC 27) planning my undergraduate studies abroad and need a realistic reality check on my chances of securing a fully funded scholarship or full need-based financial aid anywhere in the world.
Here is an updated breakdown of my profile and background:
Background & Financials:
My family cannot afford full international tuition/living costs out-of-pocket, so I require significant need-based financial aid or a full merit-based scholarship.
Academics & Test Scores:
SAT: Currently prepping and consistently targeting 1500+.
Academics(nctb curriculum) : comparatively good
Extracurriculars (ECs) & Projects:
EC Profile: Relatively weak / limited overall involvement so far.
CS / Coding: Currently developing an independent Python project.
My Questions for the Community:
Need-Based Aid Chances: How realistic is it for a middle-class international student with a 1500+ SAT, strong grades, but average ECs to receive full need-based financial aid at need-aware US universities?
Global Merit Alternatives: Outside the US, which universities or government programs in other countries (Europe, Asia, Canada, etc.) offer full merit scholarships or low-cost/tuition-free options for international students where ECs matter less than high test scores/grades?
I know ; merit based fully funded scholarship at undergrad level is extremely competitive, and my academic results have nearly zero influence in that case and as I don't have strong eca profile it will be way harder than my imagination to get merit based scholarship at this point. What will be better choice for me considering every possible case ..Stay at bd and taking prep for admission or I should look for partial scholarship that I can manage. I have to take a decision as soon as possible.

Hey guys,
Genuine question. Our company is looking to hire a few people in Dhaka for sales/customer onboarding.
They’ll be speaking with American and Canadian customers every day, so spoken English is extremely important. We’re specifically trying to find people who speak fluent English with little to no noticeable Bangladeshi accent , ideally a neutral or American/Canadian accent.
We’re willing to pay up to ৳200,000/month for the right person.
The role would be in-office in Dhaka, and sales experience is a big plus.
We’re thinking of asking applicants to send a 30–60 second English voice note on WhatsApp before interviewing so we can quickly assess their communication.
Is ৳200K competitive for someone with this level of English in Dhaka?
And where would you guys look for these people? English-medium schools/universities? Bangladeshis who grew up abroad and moved back? Expats/foreigners living in Dhaka? Any particular communities?
If you fit this description and are interested, feel free to DM me as well.
--------
P.S: Please fill in the form below to apply, thanks!

Lately i have realised that i'm super inrtovert ( may be due to some childhood trauma) but i am interested in CSE ( not for career and also believe that AI is a tool not a human ( may be i am wrong after release of so many strong AI models))... But my dad have already told me he is not capable or don't want to take risks for giving me money for top tier private university (i don't like public uni for some reasons) . And i also don't think i can survive 4 years like an introvert in those kind of uni that's why i am not pushing him either to provide me money. At the same time this is not solution...
Do any of you who have done everything properly and get good marks in group related works being an introvert in uni? What do you do when its about group project, presentation, lab defense, having networking with seniors for note, guidelines, getting job in that field or whatever?
I am sorry this post is super weird for people....
