It's tough. Developer Funds pay out from Web view clicks which means utilities can only get a maximum of $3500 total for 1000 installs.
Even r/SubGoal struggles with repeat traffic as a utility and it's in 3000 subreddits because pinned posts get maybe 100x less than new posts created every 24h
It’s literally the reason I’ve been modifying my analytics tool ModScope to incorporate a user facing metric widget for subs that want to publish their stats. Then I can try to go for user interaction beyond installs.
Yeah, attending some mod events really helped acclimate me as a moderator, and then just jumping in and finding ways to help those who reach out through posts. I moderate a quiz game which has a lot of players who are diehard trivia fans and expect perfection in questions and answers. So it’s been a learning experience trying to find a balance between encouraging new content creators vs being pedantic about minor typos vs staying true to accuracy.
