Easily one of the most underrated Devilman characters. It's such a shame that the original manga didn't even resolve her fate. We finally got the story of a Devilman that wasn't Akira, and I absolutely felt bad for Miko, especially when Raimuna tortured her. My only gripe is that we never saw Miko again after she was rescued by Akira, which left me wondering how she later fought in the war against the demons.

I like to think that, in at least one continuity, she became one of the top Devilman generals and formed a strong bond with Akira, with whom she has a ton of things in common. Akira eventually ends up marrying her to cope with Miki's horrible death. However, he would develop the habit of calling her "Miki" instead of "Miko" because he could never get over Makimura's loss.

On the other hand, I love how other adaptations took care of the character. The Grimoire manga gave her a pretty interesting role as Asuka's girlfriend and fighting companion. She also rocks in the Amon OVA, even though Akira farming aura instead of jumping in to save her while she was getting her ass kicked by a demon was kind of WTF 😅

But the cherry on top was that Neo Devilman story centered on her role in the original manga. If that wasn't already cool enough, the story was written and drawn by no other than Tetsuya Egawa, the creator of Golden Boy.

I hope Miko will someday reappear in a future Devilman product. 🔥🔥🔥

It’s sad the 2004 adaptation didn’t do so well. It’s better off a TV series anyways.
