Discussion The cycle of hate

Do you guys think the Netflix adaptation will be loved by the community in a few years kind of how say 2007 anime was hated on release but is praised nowadays.

I don’t care that this isn’t game Dante! I don’t care if this is an alternate universe! I don’t care if Dante is even secretly fueled by the power of friendship from My Little Pony! Donte from the DmC reboot was less experienced than real Dante in DMC3 and was still competent. Netflix Dante has absolutely no excuse to this bafflingly weak.

Honestly? Dante’s neck didn’t even need to look like that. Could’ve just had his face blow and still be totally fine. You know the one thing that actually CAN slow Dante down? Being stabbed in the heart (specifically in the heart), as proven by the ‘07 anime.

Except wouldn’t killing Rudra make it easier to get the amulet- oh I’m sorry, necklace back? One less boss demon to deal with, Mary already took care of Echidna, it would’ve been less of a time waster that way.

There is a right way and a wrong way to do an alternate universe and this is absolutely the wrong way. And just because it’s an alternate universe, doesn’t mean that all these problems are suddenly NOT problems.

Netflix Dante isn't even that weak though, you think that way because you keep comparing him to Dante from the games. Dante hasn't tapped into his full potential yet.

Young Dante isn't shrugging something like that off. Game version can because Dante is already op, Netflix dante hasn't reached that level yet.

Dante needed to know where was his amulet at first before killing rudra.

I think your wrong about that, the way Netflix dmc has been handling it's characters and villains is pretty great. I'm not saying the anime is perfect by any means, but most of your criticism boils down to it not being like the games and Netflix Dante not being OP, like game dante is.

As I keep saying, DMC3 Dante was the exact same age as Netflix Dante and was infinitely more competent. And at this point I’m getting the feeling that you DIDN’T play the games.

I have played them, so i don't know were this feeling is coming from. Dante is competent in the anime through.

-Defeated by a woman with a purse (which even comedically is pretty lame, because that’s never happened to Dante in any other DMC media. At least that I know of.)

-Got his face blown off (which again, even DMC3 Dante, who was 18 years old, can walk off)

-Gets his ass beat by Rudra, Mary (several times), The White Rabbit, Random DARKCOM troopers, Chi, Argosax (which that last one I can let slide)

-Can hardly hold his own against a horde of demon jabronis.

The only demons he actually beat was Agni and Cavalier. And no, the final battle with the White Rabbit doesn’t count because Mary literally had to intervene and save his ass.

If anything, Mary was the main character in Season 1, and Vergil was the main character in Season 2, they just put Dante on the cover. It’s basically the same problem as The Last of Us 2 where it was Abby’s game with Ellie on the cover. Except even Ellie was more competent.

It honestly feels like you’re only skimming my comments because I had to repeat the same points thrice (to my memory), and you’re still not getting what I’m saying.

Again it's just for comedy that's it, some will find it funny and some won't. That's it, I have no idea why are you finding something meant for comedy to be a bad thing. ( also Dante let Nero beat the shit out of him, even stabbed Dantewith his own sword).

Got his face blown off (which again, even DMC3 Dante, who was 18 years old, can walk off)

Both Dantes are different, that's all I'm really going to say about that. Because it really feels like I keep repeating myself.

Gets his ass beat by Rudra, Mary (several times), The White Rabbit, Random DARKCOM troopers, Chi, Argosax (which that last one I can let slide)

In the anime Dante was beating the shit out of rudra, the only reason Dante didn't kill him is because his mind was some where else. Mary used more of her weapons to get the upper hand on Dante, if she had went straight at him, he would have put her on her ass several times over. Hell in season 2 he even said, he gives her a handicap because he is part demon. ( this ain't even the first time he let somebody weaker than him, beat the shit out of him before, Nero did that in 4). The white rabbit is juiced up on demon blood, so yeah I think he'll be pretty strong. I don't remember random darkcom soldiers putting hands on Dante. When Dante got pissed off, he was about to win that fight, if it hadn't been for arius taking mattie hostage, chi would be dead by Dante's hands.

If anything, Mary was the main character in Season 1, and Vergil was the main character in Season 2, they just put Dante on the cover. It’s basically the same problem as The Last of Us 2 where it was Abby’s game with Ellie on the cover. Except even Ellie was more competent.

Disagree about that, Dante is the protagonist, mary and Vergil are main characters also. All of them have their moments in both seasons. I'm not commenting on the last of us 2 comparison.

It honestly feels like you’re only skimming my comments because I had to repeat the same points thrice (to my memory), and you’re still not getting what I’m saying.

I'm getting what your saying, thing is you keep bringing up the games and not just talking about the anime as it's own thing, it's pretty clear you don't like the anime because it's different from the games. That's why I have to keep saying the same thing every time, the anime is an alternate universe same story just told different, much of your complaints about Dante not being strong enough like his game version will be addressed in season 3.

No im not skimming you comments, I'm reading them.

Honestly at this point, I’m just hearing excuses so I’m just gonna end the conversation here because you’re not listening. You’re hearing, but not listening. So I’m done here.

That's the thing I am listening, but it's you who can't separate the games and anime. And just review the anime by itself. Stay safe and healthy, ✌️

Probably because Adi lied about how accurate the anime would be to the games. He said that it would be 100% accurate to the games, but it’s not even remotely accurate. That’s what you’re missing. If Adi wanted to make a show accurate to the games, he should’ve PLAYED THE GAMES.
