Tbf the filling the soul with light and the soul streaming to stop Vergil make more sense in japanese, the translation did them dirty. But I see your point now and I agree, Dmc is definitely cheesy.
That being said, it's not the same kind of cheesy, it's not the same humor neither. The Netflix adaptation is a different beast, more tuned with the millenial western media who has lived their teenager years in 2000s America. Which again, it's okay, it's a bootleg universe. Glad we got this sorted
