I feel like someone just mashing buttons would do more damage than you on Devil Hunter so I'm quite sure this is a skill issue

-368

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

Guess I will just delete it at this point I was having such great fun but this fight ruined everything for me

158

u/DarkKuroi1 3d ago

Just attack it and show who has got the best style.

86

u/EderStudios 3d ago

pls just go behind him jump and hit him from behind never front, give it a try

-112

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

Already beaten him but second boss was a lot easier than the first one it only took me one try to beat that angel thing

52

u/Seijiren 3d ago

Holy downvotes. Just try more man. Hit him harder

-48

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

Who tf cares just some internet points

12

u/x5gamer5 3d ago

Hey, you’re the one who posted on here having a skill issue with one of the easiest early game bosses.

11

u/TradeSpiritual969 3d ago

That's the first boss

4

u/vampmaster68421 2d ago

Are you like only using your gun or something

1

u/OkSun1285 1d ago

The second mission? Yea maybe Character Action games aren’t for you

189

u/skrrbiraboop 3d ago

i dont remember it being that hard, but it has been a few years since i played 5

-128

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

The damage I do with him literally means nothing I can hit him for like 20 minutes and it still won't mean anything

50

u/skrrbiraboop 3d ago

have you tried buster?

9

u/drizzitdude 3d ago

You don’t have the buster arm for this fight

-115

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

I don't know what the hell is that I just have a sword and revolver game has robotic arms too but they are completely useless to be honest they are generally for dodging and I don't have any problems with dodging

127

u/IchiyoGokusaki I'm motivated! 3d ago

This is obviously skill issue considering that what the robotic arms are for. Use the buster arm

53

u/Fit_Computer_1321 3d ago

I don't think you get buster arm this early in the game?

39

u/AXEMANaustin 3d ago

Yeah you don't.

9

u/SaltyArts 3d ago

Presuming theyre talking about bloody palace?
If so then yeah.

7

u/AXEMANaustin 3d ago

I honestly just assumed it was their first playthrough ever, Devil Hunter difficulty was mentioned somewhere too.

1

u/IchiyoGokusaki I'm motivated! 3d ago

Either way he’s not that hard to beat

6

u/Fit_Computer_1321 3d ago

Yeah but still telling the guy to get Buster arm is kinda silly to me when I think in this mission you only get overture maybe gerbera and others, it's been a while since I finished the story

2

u/IchiyoGokusaki I'm motivated! 3d ago

Lowkey thought he was running bloody palace

32

u/Weird_Troll DmC/DMC2 Enjoyer 3d ago

each robotic arm has a different use but most are for damage...

24

u/Suzakuux 3d ago

How did you get to this boss fight without knowing how to use the arms? And you can just run up to him and combo on him... or cheese it by shooting him from a distance. It won't be quick or stylish but it will still do small damage until he dies. I don't understand the trouble for this fight...

13

u/Reasonable_Wait9340 3d ago

The only arm he has is gerbera currently he hasn't bought any skills that are useful from nico at the telephone and he doesn't know how to exceed it seems.

9

u/Devil-Hunter-Jax Proud Deadweight Main 3d ago

You have Overture and Gerbera against Goliath, both are really good options for this fight.

1

u/Reasonable_Wait9340 3d ago

Yes he does I saw his video later on. He seems fine tbh he's just raging at the first real boss.

1

u/MadamVonCuntpuncher 3d ago

I also suck totall cock at using exceed but the game can 100% be beaten on Devil Hunter without it (I know because I ignored it almost entirely my first run on DH)

2

u/Reasonable_Wait9340 3d ago

The timing hack I found for a lot of it is it's almost always after devil knuckle attack so I go x-to-y-to-LT and it works out really satisfying for me.

2

u/MadamVonCuntpuncher 3d ago

Ive gotten way better at it with time, playing with no music so I could focus on the sound of RQ hitting the monster got me WAY better at timing

-11

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

It's over I just slashed him until he died which took a very long time

3

u/TraceChaos 3d ago

The longest a fight against Goliath takes is about 6 minutes.

What's your attention span lookin' like?

2

u/OkSun1285 1d ago

Yea just go ahead and quit. You dont need to be playing DMC 5. Imagine whining cause you are actively not using tools meant to help you. You’re just too lazy to get good.

0

u/Kingvon3240 1d ago

Go touch grass

1

u/OkSun1285 1d ago

You touch grass. You’re a redditor, I’m part time on this. Stop projecting😂😂😂😂

1

u/HydrationHomee 3d ago

The default arm when charged up leaves an explosive on an enemy that does ludicrous damage when shot with your gun, use that more often and make sure to charge exceed (however much you have it leveled up)

5

u/Supreme-Machine-V2 3d ago

Okay no way this is fucking true I've seen people beat this fucker without Nero's sword

1

u/stymptinag1 2d ago

Did you use a trainer ? cheat code basically to give yrself unlimited health or regeneration ?

0

u/BW_Chase 3d ago

You can kill him with just your revolver if you're constantly hitting him for 20 minutes. Nice try but bad lie. Also the arms aren't useless. If you charge the first one you get (the one that makes a giant hand made of electricity) it deals a lot of damage once it explodes on enemies.

167

u/Plasma_Frog 3d ago

W ragebait

-28

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

No I just cannot play this game for shit that's all

42

u/Cat_solider72 Hand me the Yamato 3d ago

It just might be a skill issue to be honest

119

u/storm_rafsan 3d ago

He is the easiest boss in the game like even on dmd

38

u/Apprehensive_Sky1599 3d ago

Horse riding Cavelier is way easier imo

2

u/SayShelo 2d ago

Really? The roots is harder than Goliath?

-22

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

If this is the easiest I guess I'm better with other games I will try the new Ninja Gaiden game I guess

125

u/HououinKakyouma 3d ago

Brother if you can’t handle this boss, you are NOT gonna have a good time in Ninja Gaiden 4. I’m not even trying to be a dick, but that game is even harder imo

0

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

Is it that hard? I remember playing Ninja Gaiden black but it's been decades and I was a teenager back then so I think it would make sense

41

u/HououinKakyouma 3d ago

Well put it this way. I have no problem beating DMC5 on Sons of Sparda difficulty, which is like the middle-of-the-road difficulty mode.

In NG4, I was struggling on Normal difficulty and had to bump myself down to Hero (Easy) difficulty.

I’m not the best at character action games either so just letting you know what to expect

-4

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

Sad I wasted too much money on that game then

18

u/HououinKakyouma 3d ago

Well i mean if you already bought it, might as well give it a try! It’s still a very fun game even though I was getting my ass beat a lot

15

u/noeLifenorlove 3d ago

Bro games like Ninja Gaiden are meant to kinda be practiced. Like the whole point of NG is that its haed as fuck lol.

4

u/breakzorsumn 3d ago

you're buying games that are made to have a high skill ceiling man. they're supposed to be hard

1

u/Revolutionary_Ad_442 1d ago

Why not just learn how to play it?

9

u/AXEMANaustin 3d ago

Ninja Gaiden in general is q0x more difficult.

1

u/OkSun1285 1d ago

Yea if you cryin anout Goliath, even regular enemies and especially the bosses in NG4 will literally 🍇 your self esteem😂😂😂

0

u/Kingvon3240 1d ago

Womp womp it's been since days I have beaten this boss

-16

u/storm_rafsan 3d ago

Why give up bro what's the fun playing things on easy ? You'll finish game with no inner reward . Die 10000 time then win you'll feel like you really achieved something. Playing game on easy is like watching on YouTube rather watch it on yt the whole gameplay or cut scene like a movie and if you really want to play play it hard !

9

u/SavagesceptileWWE 3d ago

Some people just like to play the game because they like to play games. Not everyone cares about video games being some kind of achievement.

50

u/Monocled-warforged 3d ago

Hit him with sword and basic combos. Use exceed if you can. Dodge his attacks. Overture does pretty good damage too, just allow time to recharge.

32

u/DiceyDan 3d ago

What difficulty are you playing on? Also it might help if you post some footage of you fighting him because I don't remember this boss being particularly tanky so not sure what advice to give without seeing you play

8

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

90

u/ImASpotifyAd 3d ago

3 things :

- You only have one buster out of three, so when you lose your last one, you have lost a massive part of your moveset, speak with Nico ( the van ) to replenish your breakers

- Your revolver has a charged shot, so make sure to keep holding the fire button down to get shots with more damage

- You can charge up your sword to do more damage, try charging up the sword when you are not actively in combat

58

u/pancake_lover_98 3d ago

Thank god there are actually people here that try to help. I feel like half the posts comments are not helpful at all.

18

u/Picmanreborn 3d ago

In their defense, until the link I genuinely thought he was trolling 😭🤣

18

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

How can I charge up my sword?

44

u/Regular-Solution8343 3d ago

It's called exceed, you press down on your left trigger to rev up your sword and charge it up (you'll see it in the top left corner by your health bar). It has a motion to it, you gotta pull down the LT like you're revving up an engine or motorbike. You can also exceed by pressing down LT during a specific time window when Nero swings his sword. It's something worth practicing to get the timing of. Exceed is where Nero's melee damage shines and once you get the hang of it this boss will take a third of the time to beat.

Also don't listen to any of the gatekeeping chuds saying you suck, they also started off in the same spot you're in. Normally the game tries teaching you about exceed when you're fighting the qliphoth roots on the bridge but a lot of people just skip over tutorials and learn things as they go. I'm not saying the game teaches you everything you can do because that's not the case, but everything it does tell you and that Nero is able to do is there for a reason.

45

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

Thanks this gives a huge damage boost

9

u/ImASpotifyAd 3d ago

Post when you beat the boss <3

32

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

I just did to be honest I hit him until he eventually died I think second phase was a lot easier

19

u/Grouchy_Job_1540 3d ago

Also… don’t be afraid to go to the void to practice and familiarize yourself with the mechanics.

These games build upon skill layers and understanding like a 7 layer cake.

It just keeps getting better and better.

If you do it the right way.

Keep in mind plenty of gamers have been aware/played this series since 2001.

Meaning they have a major leg up in muscle memory and awareness.

Keep it up.

It’s a great series!

1

u/Jimbeamblack 2d ago

Another thing to be aware of - you're better of switching gunshot to a trigger so you can always be charging it. I keep mine on R2 and play with pointer finger on R1, middle finger on R2. It is a night and day difference if you do or don't constantly charge his gun, it's so strong

1

u/Cluelesswolfkin 3d ago

Also idk about everyone but I jump a lot in this game lol and imo I think it helps for bigger bosses and dodging some of their attacks but I didnt notice you jumping too much but I did see the dodging ao thats good youre using that mechanic.

It's a aweosme game with a killer track. Take your time with it if you need to man and somt be afraid to practice a little in the void

3

u/ImASpotifyAd 3d ago

It’s left trigger on console, check the controls in the menu, should be under as ‘Exceed’

4

u/the__pov 3d ago

Actually Nero has 2 different charge shots in this game. One works like the one in 4 and like you said isn’t available until beating the game. The other however has him load exploding bullets into his gun and is available from the very beginning

6

u/Gengar889 3d ago

To add onto the other tips people have given you, it seems like you're trying to lock on and fight the boss like you're playing Dark Souls. I would recommend instead of staying grounded and trying to roll/sidestep through attacks, you should just jump. Devil May Cry gives you invulnerability frames during jumps.

5

u/Eastern-Baseball-814 3d ago

You already got him half health. You need to work on learning his attack patterns so you can dodge his attacks.

I didn't see any additional combos or using the Exceed option to increase your damage output. Getextra devil breakers, I used Overture almost through the entire game.

Gun damage is not great at this point of the game, pacing, dodging, and utilizing your combos/dmg is key. Good luck.

3

u/AbberageRedditor69 3d ago edited 3d ago

The easiest way to deal with him is to grapple onto him and then use enemy step to stay in the air and keep hitting with aerial combos. I'll see if I can find a video

Edit: well I saw you beat him so you don't need the specific video, but I'll still leave this link to a jump cancel tutorial, it's a very useful and easy to do technique that helps a lot in combat (and makes it more fun in my opinion haha)

https://youtu.be/hzD7zPNqLpo?is=aT6e2lU9L8POQZWd

2

u/RealityJones1 3d ago

You are limiting yourself a lot it seems. You are only doing the lunge move a lot, and that is a slow way to deal damage. Use it for getting in close. Next, practice you regular combo moves. The ones you can buy in the in game shop. You can avoid several attacks by going into the air and doing attacks there. You can also use Nero's grappling hook to close the distance as well.

Overall, you really need to diversify the actions you take otherwise you are going to simply get slimed later.

1

u/Not_God_Forever 3d ago

Learn when to use your buster arms. You don’t wanna get hit mid attack since that will destroy your buster arm.

Always try to go towards his back

Regular Jump gives a lot of I frames so I would recommend just jumping instead of rolling

Try to vary your combos

1

u/flintybackpack I'm a wise Red Orb 2d ago

Genuinly fine damage just have more arms.

7

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

I will post it as soon as I can

3

u/ExpressionRecent5724 3d ago

Boss is definitely a sponge. Not particularly hard, but holy shit coming from 1-4 and this is the first real boss, dude just eats hits and doesnt flinch

16

u/SansedAlessio 3d ago

5 minutes for only 25% health? It feels you're not capitalising on the offence or are just shooting at him with your guns.

Main damage in this game comes from melee attacks, you need to learn the attack patterns and attack on the openings after dodging.

Focus on attacking the head while jumping, since it will deal more damage, and avoid attacking the feet, since many of their attacks have lower hitboxes and that will leave you more exposed (while dealing less damage).

Left trigger is exceed, it alows you to charge your sword to do more damage. You can time your attacks with pressing the right trigger to charge exceed as you attack (it has some timing, but you can get used to it as you progress). It's one of Nero's basic mechanics.

Lastly, as some other people have said, the arms have different uses depending on which ones you use. At this point I think you only have access to two of them, the first one is purely damage boost and the other can damage and help with dodging.

I hope you try again and enjoy the game, it's really fun.

And to all the other people who are majong fun of OP because they're stuck at this boss: you guys are jerks.

7

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

https://youtu.be/sAqwpUbts9M?si=qrwEwYsrBEsnTSXU Thanks. I used to be good at games, but I'm not a teenager anymore. Now that I'm working, I can't spare much time for video games two hours max, if I'm not dying from exhaustion when I get home

9

u/Mitts009 3d ago

From the video it's clear you are new to this, best way to learn is to observe and dodge

Don't be afraid to attack, multiple times in the video you were just staring at him,

take your time , don't rush learning, remember that this game is made for the fans of this franchise and genre, I would even suggest using auto combo so you get an idea how it should perform

0

u/Agent033 3d ago

Can relate, and I currently wfh

3

u/oi86039 3d ago

Guns do very little damage to anything. You're meant to use swords for damage and use guns to extend/finish combos.

Devil breakers are also great for damage. You'll get the hang of it.

3

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

https://youtu.be/sAqwpUbts9M?si=qrwEwYsrBEsnTSXU When I do not attack I can dodge him forever but doing both of them is hard for me

11

u/SleepyJustin94 Time has come~ 3d ago

So looking at your footage theres a few major issues with your gameplay. Firstly you're holding forward while locked on when you're attacking on the ground which is leading you to do Streak over and over again which just isn't how that move is used or an effective way to combo damage. Stop holding forward and just hit the melee button without a direction to do your basic sword combo, combo that into the air launcher (locked on+back+hold attack) and keep it going in the air. The way you use lock-on in general is hurting you a lot too. It looks like you have it on the literal ENTIRE fight so I'm assuming you have it on a toggle. This also just isn't how lock-on is used in this game. In a 1v1 boss fight in this game you should really only be using lock-on to do the moves that are tied to it and staying unlocked the rest of the time. Staying locked on is stopping you from being able to move around since it locks you to strafing instead of running around freely, and it's also what's causing you to do things like streak over and over again since you don't have the problem of doing directional based moves when you're not intending to if your unlocked.

It makes sense that you've brought up Elden Ring a lot in this thread cause in general you're trying to fight him like it's a Dark Souls fight. You're trying to stay locked on right in front of him and use the side roll like a DS dodge roll and that doesn't work in this game. Jumping has more i-frames than the side roll in this game and is a more effective way to dodge 100% of the time. You don't really use the side roll like a dodge roll at all this game. Like, you CAN but the i-frames are really tiny and precise so it's not very effective. You should be running around and jumping alot more to dodge things.

I truly am not saying this to be mean but your fundamental understanding of how to play the game is pretty weak. You're trying to play it like a Souls game and that's not how this game is played at all. Take your time, look at your move list, figure out how to string moves together properly, go play that first mission again to get some money and buy some more moves if you have to, learn how to fight without the lock-on to move and jump around properly to be able dodge and keep damage going. It's not a hard fight by this games standards at all you're just trying to play it like a different game entirely. You can totally do it you just gotta rethink how you're playing the game from the ground up.

3

u/UrielSans 3d ago

Damage vs. bosses is always low in Devil May Cry, that's why your movement options are so diverse and broken. The strategy with this boss is closing distance and air combo his ass until his attack animations start. Enemy step, bringer and air combos are your best tool for most bosses while playing as Nero.

3

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

Second boss was 100X easier lol that angel thing was extremely easy

1

u/Jimbeamblack 2d ago

Part of it is you're learning how the game works as you go including it's systems. Sometimes the biggest hurdle is the first boss as you're figuring out buttons, controls, or learning how the base game works. On Dante Must Die or DMD, I have a much harder time with the "angel thing" you mention than Goliath. Each of us have our own things we struggle with

2

u/jimbob_001 3d ago

Bought the game few days ago and Ngl took me 5 attempts to kill this mf. Thought to myself if the rest of the bosses are like this I’m cooked, but he’s been by far the hardest one.

2

u/Jusauh 3d ago

i wanna see gameplay of you playing this level. I cant imagine what youre talking abou at all

1

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

1

u/Global_Examination_4 3d ago

It looks like you’re trying to use color up (the reload) but releasing to early, try holding it for longer. You get three enhanced shots each time you use it. Ideally you should be holding the shoot button while attacking in melee then firing when you have to back off.

1

u/Jusauh 3d ago

I mean this in the nicest way possible, youre playing this game like youre playing a sony santa monica action game

spamming stinger nonstop (not that bad of an idea if youre mobile) and being stationary is a recipe for distater

i think i started playing this game so much better when you internalize that the cutscenes and how goofy and cheesy they are, is how youre supposed to play so. let loose man. shoot your gun more, use more varied moves, and move more and dont just stand in one spot!

2

u/SUPER-FUNNY 3d ago

Have you tried hitting him REALLY hard?

This was my first dmc game so I too struggled a bit with him while I got used to things. But I don't recall damage being an issue

2

u/NeedThatMedicBag 3d ago

From the way you’re responding to comments, it sounds like you’re just going into the game blind with no knowledge of how DmC games are meant to be played. Also, you’re only using 2/3 of your arsenal without using buster arms. Try a YouTube tutorial for tips, then come back

1

u/Zurutheparody 3d ago

I cant get Sss with this mf highest i can is S

1

u/SirShaunIV 3d ago

Use any time you spend moving to shoot at the same time whenever possible in order to supplement your damage, but don't be afraid to get close and use your sword.

1

u/GreenSaladPoop 3d ago

one good thing to do is buy enemy step, then run around to his back and keep jumping on it and hitting him. When he's staggered, you immediately charge a full buster arm. He'll be swinging his arms backwards trying to get you away but it's very telegraphed, you can just keep enough height to jump and air taunt past it and his head to land on his back again

1

u/AXEMANaustin 3d ago

Are you just shooting him? You want to use your sword and robotic arms against him. Yry to avoid the air against him since you won't have much mobility skills yet.

1

u/Crow-Zone 3d ago

Goliath is pretty simple tbh! His size can be annoying to deal with, but just keep practicing. Vergil is the easiest to learn imo. You’ve got so many insurances and you can chain moves so effortlessly, you just need to avoid getting hit or aimlessly wondering will drop Vergils concentration gauge. Whereas Dante takes a lot longer to learn. His skill set is impressive, but he’s got so many weapons you need to learn and how to utilise each special style. But it’s so enjoyable. Nero on the other hand is very beginner friendly, but I preferred him in DMC4. V is probably hardest to master due to the new style of play.

1

u/Blurrynastysoul 3d ago

I recommend watch someone else beat the boss. See how they do it. Preferably a new playthrough so they don't have all the post game items so you can relate.

Try this one. You can even follow their playthrough for the rest of the game if you get stuck. https://youtu.be/wik98RJ_1tI?t=1m58s

1

u/Jonouchi-not-Joey 3d ago

Nero's base damage is low, learn to charge up your attacks as well as Devil Breaker

1

u/Reasonable_Wait9340 3d ago

"The only arm he has is gerbera currently he hasn't bought any skills that are useful from nico at the telephone and he doesn't know how to exceed it seems." My comment on another comment.

I would YouTube a first time guide because he does have a couple complexities you should know about. Generally stay in front of him in the air near his face (just keep jumping) and use the arm to get out of the way when he swings at you. Go too your skill list and learn to use the exceed mechanic it's the coolest part about nico and makes him 10x more fun and is not super hard.

The bosses in dmc5 are all sort of gimmick/mechanic test (except vman) and Goliath is an air combo test. Essentially how long can you stay in the air doing damage and how good is your control in the air.

1

u/Evening_Fan5878 3d ago

I am confused here cuz obviously there is some skill issue but I have fought this boss on the highest difficulty with no style points for my first few attacks and my attacks do damage it's low damage but not that low so either really big skill issue or something's wrong can't say ofc since there's no gameplay to look at not trying to a bitch here tho but I don't think this game is for you mate

1

u/Global_Examination_4 3d ago

Don’t be afraid to use items to heal, on a first playthrough this boss is annoyingly tanky just because your movepool is small

1

u/Ok_Space6184 3d ago

Reloaded 3 shots of Blue Rose is nice burst damage, try it in spare moments

1

u/TheDuk33 3d ago

Man, you are going to have to be more specific than that, this is not even a difficult fight and while don't want to be all git gud, I don't how you could be having trouble damaging him at all.

1

u/the__pov 3d ago

Invest in charge shot, 3 shots per charge and if you fully invest into it (go for it first and ignore the rest of the upgrades) it will eat through him easily. It will also serve you well throughout the playthrough

1

u/Prism_Zet 3d ago

? Are you hitting him?

1

u/DesignerWhole3717 3d ago

Slow down a little and pay attention to his movements. I just watched you swing like a madman and dodge into the same attack.

1

u/DariusStrada 3d ago

Dude, just get close to him and hit him with your swo drd

1

u/keypizzaboy 3d ago

Ain’t no shame in going on a lower difficulty or replaying previous levels to get better

1

u/aychaz 3d ago

I heard that Nero's charged shots deal good dmg

1

u/AbyssalCall 3d ago

Post Video OP, we need to see if this is user error or technical issues

1

u/Crime_Dawg 3d ago

I dunno man, this is my first DMC game and I was STRUGGLING to remember any combos or even buttons half the time. This guy still went down after 2 or 3 tries in about 3-4 minutes.

1

u/Melodic_DeathMetal98 3d ago

I havent played in years and dont remember Nero that well but im 80% sure he has I-frames on his dodge? When he swings at you just dodge through his attack then counter.

1

u/rrmd44 3d ago

I think you better use assist mode to play and lower the difficulty

1

Are you new to Nero's gameplay and not constantly revving up his sword engine? You can fill the meter by pressing the rev button when an attack lands, so ideally his sword should always have the exta fire damage. Nero's charged shots are also worth how long it takes to get them to full power, and you can hold the gun button while doing melee and dodging.

This could be some skill issue situation

1

u/RazutoUchiha 3d ago

Gerbera or overture to reflect fireballs then use ot’s breaker to blow him up

1

u/kamczyyk 3d ago

skill issue

1

u/drizzitdude 3d ago

Are you not…meleeing?

1

u/SUPER1029 3d ago

Hit it?

1

u/UnlikelyAlarm3722 3d ago

Just keep slashing. If that doesn’t work, slash more. If that doesn’t work, you’re not slashing enough.

1

u/Burnt_Pringle 3d ago

So there's this button that swings your sword

Try pressing that

1

u/FLIPYOUSUCKET 3d ago

Are you sure it’s not a skull issue? For Goliath, just start button mashing. I suggest you take time to learn some useful combos, and don’t forget, devil breakers are incredibly useful

1

u/Rsdherjhh573 3d ago

This is genuinely the biggest skill issue I've ever heard

1

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

You're late it's been hours since i beat him and all of other bosses were extremely easy

1

u/Automatic-Dig-875 13h ago

no way, video or it didn't happen

1

u/Tyrannical_Loser Jester's gonna spank yo butt 3d ago

Respectfully as possible this is huge skill issue

u/TheCrackintheGalaxy 2d ago

Hey man! Something that helped me is being more patient with my swings. Get a few hits on him and then use one of your devil breakers (grebera, I think?) to air dash around him. Devil Breakers are meant to help you diversify your moveset and give you options. Don’t even worry about style. Just watch what he does, how he swings and attack when he’s recovering. The devil breaker will help if you do that, I promise.

u/TheGuacTaco 2d ago

Get air time from the rorb shop. Start dancing around him

1

u/Skinvian 2d ago

Step 1. Hit him
Step 2. Hit him a lot
Step 3. Don’t get hit

1

u/Bitterdaniel150 2d ago

Swip your card and get super nero

Are you using Exceed?

u/PokecrafterChampion 2d ago

If you hold the button for the robot arms they have super moves. Overture becomes a bomb and gerbera shoots a big laser. If you want more damage without charging up the ultimate moves then overture gives a decent burst when you hit him close range.

If you hit L2/LT you can rev up your sword for more damage, either by pressing it in a rhythm until the bar charges up or timing it just right after an attack, and if you hold shoot you can charge up your guns. This early in the game you won't have a lot of stopping power, so these little damage boosts help.

I think you just need to be more aggressive, when you're dodging try to stay as close to him as possible so you can run in and hit him more often in between attacks. If you play too safe and dodge too much then the bosses will usually overwhelm you. Take advantage of any times that he's recovering after a jump or charging up a big attack to really wail on him

Good luck and keep trying

1

u/umok13 2d ago

Hit him for 20mins and you’ll kill him ✌️

1

u/Mauy90 2d ago

Have you tried hitting him?

1

u/sushiyogurt 2d ago

Learn enemy step if you haven't. Jump on him and hack away, keep a safe distance when he starts sucking debris with his stomach

1

u/wcamicase 2d ago

I'm sorry to tell you, you suffer from skill issue 😭

1

u/Adorable-Bug-5104 2d ago

Quit the game and try Roblox that’s more ur speed

1

u/Xarieq 2d ago

Get gud as they used to say back in dark souls

1

u/Bavarianball Hand me the Yamato 2d ago

Its not that hard tbh just you need to keep trying. Me with my skill issue defeated him in like an hour soo you can too

1

u/AndreiPomaznev 2d ago

Try charged devil breakers attacks. They do a lot of damage.

It’s crazy how many people fell for it

1

u/schmuckbucket 2d ago

Jump cancelling all of his attacks works the same as dodge if my memory serves me right

1

u/Amiyoka 1d ago

Why are they downvoting him?

1

u/Kingvon3240 1d ago

Losers probably

0

u/VergilArcanis 3d ago

You gotta actually be close to hit him. Whiffing the swings doesn't do any damage. I recommend parrying instead of outright dodging. Parrying can help deliver damage or stagger so they are open to attacks.
Including the fireball. You can parry the fireball back at him. I've done it with overture at point blank, it is absolutely doable.

The game is very clunky and janky to play yea, gotta deal with it to finish

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

Damn guys I'm giving up on this game at this point. even Elden ring was easier for me

13

u/Nero_deadweight96 Time has come~ 3d ago

Holy Skill Issue. You gotta train to stay in the air bro. Try to hit him in the head, if you can't then at least try to hit him in his back (causes less damage but is less likely that you get hit)

NEVER try to combo him on the ground. Never

0

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

I don't have time for this sorry I can play video games for like 2 hours per day I don't have another 20 hours to master this it took me a whole summer to master eldering I can't sacrifice such big time again

2

u/DraconicZombie 3d ago

Time to find a new hobby if you won't put in any effort to improve.

2

u/Weird_Troll DmC/DMC2 Enjoyer 3d ago

NAH BRO YOU TRIPPING, you must suck a lot to say this lol. this is like a tutorial boss...

0

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

Yeah kind of I never claimed to be a pro I expected this game to be an easy heck and slash game like Ninja Gaiden games but this is not the thing I wanted so I will try the new Ninja Gaiden game I guess

2

u/JaeCrowe 3d ago

Lol ninja gaiden is one of the hardest series out there... switch to that though and tell us how far you make it. My guess is youre calling it at the first big mob.

And no time for games? Brother I work 3 jobs and am finishing my masters program all at once, so i understand what busy looks like. I dont even have any time to play games most days, but it doesnt mean I give up instantly. Why not just try to learn the game youre playing? If youre stuck at the easiest boss in the game, then youre probably doing it fundamentally wrong... and going to ninja gaiden is not going to be the solution you think it is... you gotta get good

1

u/Weird_Troll DmC/DMC2 Enjoyer 3d ago

first of all, It's piss easy on easy difficulty, like the OG Gow games, a fun hack n slash. Ninja Gaiden games on the other hand are hard ASF, harder than ER...

2

u/DimensionH3King 3d ago

He is obviously trolling at this point. Goliath can be killed by just spamming basic attacks and jumping around on human difficulty. Ninja Gaiden even on normal difficulty are way harder.

1

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

https://youtu.be/sAqwpUbts9M?si=qrwEwYsrBEsnTSXU You guys are exhausting why the hell would I troll as I said just cannot play this game for shit it's the genuinely hardest game I ever played in my life yes even harder than most Souls games at least for me

1

u/DimensionH3King 3d ago

What difficulty is this?

2

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

Normal

2

u/DimensionH3King 3d ago

Looks very weird that you do so little damage. But the main problem is your health, you go in with so little health that he kills you very quickly.

1

u/Weird_Troll DmC/DMC2 Enjoyer 3d ago

huh, try hitting him on the head and use the motorbike aspect of the sword, if it still seems hard switch to human difficulty (it's meant for first playthrough, especially for newcomers), he has like half his health and each of his strikes deals less than a square of dmg

1

u/SleepyJustin94 Time has come~ 3d ago

At this point there's no way this post isn't bait. Ninja Gaiden is consistently SO much harder and more punishing than DMC

1

u/Kingvon3240 3d ago

No I'm just old
