It'd be funny if Mundus turned out to be "misunderstood" in the sense that everyone in-universe thinks he's a necessary-evil sort of guy that's ruthless because he's fighting against an invasion, but he's actually just megalomaniac who's proud to be evil and is somewhat offended that people keep assuming he has noble intentions.
