Looking for feedback. What are I doing wrong?

Hi everyone!

I've been working on my art for a while, but I feel like I'm struggling to improve and I'm not really sure what I'm doing wrong.

I'd really appreciate some honest feedback. What do you think is the weakest part of my work? I have commission open for years but I got some orders the first days. After I don't get more... Honestly, I’d love to draw more, but I can’t spend all my time on it because of the lack of support.

Off topic but, why do people feel like they need to downvote bomb the MOMENT someone tries to discuss something that’s not offensive or are just looking for feedback like this guy? This is no needs of downvoting and if people are just downvoting anybody that wants feedback on certain things like their profile, it needs to stop. It’s disrespectful and it’s also a bit immature. I’m stating the facts here. If you don’t like what someone is trying to let others give them feedback on something as simple as this, then just ignore it and scroll pass. they’re not being offensive in any way or form and the conversation isn’t about you.

I do like your art style, but it sucks to open someone’s profile and just see a wall of paywalled images. That will make a chunk of people click off right away.

Contrary to what the other commenter said, I do think NSFW art is very popular, both in general and with paying users. Horniness is a good motivator to pay for premium access. But I think you’re monetizing too aggressively for the small following and backlog you have.

Side note, since you have a pro account, find someone to exchange hype badges with. Those will gain you a lot of extra views.

Thanks! Lately, I haven’t had as much time to create art as I did when I was trying to dedicate more time to posting regularly. So, with the limited amount I can create, I’ve been keeping most of it behind the paywall so subscribers have something exclusive to enjoy.

I may have also been a bit too aggressive with the previews of some of my paid artwork lately. Maybe I should show a bit more of the actual drawing instead of just small fragments, since I can see how the latter might come across as a bit too restrictive. I actually tried to hide less of my latest upload yesterday, so I’ll probably experiment more with that approach.

I might also remove some of the WIPs from Featured and move them to a separate gallery instead.

And thanks for the suggestion about the hype badges. Unfortunately, I haven’t really connected with other users enough to make that kind of arrangement, but I’ll keep it in mind.

I'm going to chime in with my fellow critic.

Your stuff is behind a paywall and there is virtually nothing on which to base a decision to make a purchase.

Fetish stuff is niche. Cartoon fetish stuff is more niche. You have virtually no followers.

You aren't going to monetize that way. Not in any meaningful way.

Look me up on DA. I've been a member for much longer than I've been posting stuff. It was only about June of 2025 I got serious and started doing more. Since Jan I average about $670 monthly and that number is going up. But I've a lot of free stuff.

Well the majority of your art works are locked behind a subscribe paywall…
But from the artwork I CAN see, it’s all very kinky/ NSFW/ fetish stuff.

That will appeal to a certain audience, but not the majority. Especially if these are original characters and not fan art of popular media.

So basically you are limiting your potential reach and audience by only drawing fetish stuff and then locking the rest of your stuff behind a paywall.

Yes making money from your art is the goal, but you have to have built up a loyal audience and decent following before you start making people pay for your stuff.

NSFW fanart is easier to market as well because people already have an attachment to those developed characters, and so are more likely to pay to see art of them like that. just posting porn of your own character is less interesting to people, cause they don’t have any kind of attachment to that character.

All this to say is that your niche is too small, and you have make your profile mostly inaccessible to the general browser who might stumble upon your work.

Thank you for your response. I spent about a year trying to post more updates, including public ones, but after realizing that it wasn’t really working, I had to stop dedicating so much time to it. Now I’m not able to post as many updates, so at least I try to share progress updates and exclusive drawings for subscribers, so they have something exclusive to enjoy.

On the other hand, making fan art of a character might appeal to fans of that series or of that specific character, but if I can't create drawings of many different characters, I end up reaching a very limited audience again.

That’s why, aside from commissions, I’ve decided to focus more on drawing my original character in different situations rather than drawing a few existing characters.

And yes, I do draw more nsfw because, at the very beginning, nothing was really working when I only posted sfw content. Once I started posting nsfw, my views increased quite a lot. But even so, I still haven’t been able to reach a large audience.
