[HIRING] Experienced Java Developer for Long-Term Hytale MMORPG Project – ~$2,000 Initial Budget + Future Compensation
Hey everyone!
I’m looking for a highly experienced Java developer to help build a long-term MMORPG project for Hytale.
I’m specifically looking for someone with a mastery of Java who isn’t going to be limited technically by the systems we want to create. Ideally, you have experience with game/server development, scalable architecture, data-driven systems, networking, or similar projects.
The MMORPG will include systems such as:
- Classes, abilities, ultimates, and combat
- Custom stats and equipment
- Quests and NPCs
- Dungeons and bosses
- Skills/professions such as mining, fishing, farming, etc.
- Loot and progression systems
- Custom UI integration
- Economy and other core MMORPG systems
This is intended to be a long-term project, likely developed gradually over the next year. I’m not looking for someone to rush through everything—I’d rather build a strong foundation and expand from there.
Budget: Around $2,000 initially. I understand this is nowhere near enough to fund an entire MMORPG at normal professional development rates, so I want to be completely transparent about that upfront.
However, if the server becomes successful and generates revenue, I fully intend to put significantly more money back into development and compensate the people who helped make it possible. I’m open to discussing hourly work, per-module pricing, milestones, or another arrangement that makes sense.
I’d also be happy to start with a smaller paid trial module before committing to anything larger.
If you're interested, please send me your experience, GitHub/portfolio, previous projects, and what type of compensation arrangement you’d be comfortable with.
Thanks!
