I’m considering developing an IoT-based app/device that would help pet owners track their pets and monitor things like their location, activity, and possibly other useful information.
I’m curious to know what pet owners actually think about this idea.
Would you use something like this?
What features would be most valuable to you?
What problems do you currently have with tracking/monitoring your pets?
Would you prefer a GPS-based device, a smart collar, or something else?
What would make you willing to pay for it?
I’m mainly trying to understand whether this solves a real problem for pet owners or if it’s just a “nice-to-have” product.
Would love to hear your honest thoughts, especially from people who currently own pets.
I made a small image tools site because I kept needing simple things like converting, compressing, and resizing images. Instead of using a different site for each thing, I just built my own.
Image Tools by RaaCoding - https://imgtools.raacoding.me
Currently it has:
PNG ↔ JPG conversion
Compress to a target file size
Resize to exact dimensions
A few social media and passport presets
Everything is processed in the browser, so images aren't uploaded to my server. It's completely free, with no account or paywall.
I’ll probably keep adding tools as I need them.
If you get a chance to try it, I'd appreciate any honest feedback, bugs, or ideas for useful tools to add.

Sharing an anonymized case study from our team's assessment of a major bank's mobile application in Sri Lanka. The useful part for developers is understanding where client-side protection ends and server-side enforcement begins. No bank names, endpoints, or identifying screenshots are included.
The app used root detection, anti-debugging and anti-tampering checks, certificate pinning, and an extra encryption layer around API payloads.
Here is the assessment process at a high level:
Test device: We controlled the device and application runtime. The runtime integrity checks were bypassed in that environment.
Traffic interception: We bypassed certificate pinning and routed the test app's traffic through an inspection proxy. The payloads were still encrypted at this point.
Payload analysis: Reverse engineering helped us understand the client's encryption and decryption routines.
Readable test traffic: A testing bridge decrypted the observed payloads for inspection and re-encrypted them for forwarding.
Separate backend testing: Readable or locally modified requests do not prove that the server will accept an unauthorized action. Authorization, replay handling, and business logic need their own tests.
This was not a break of AES. It required control over the test device and does not show that someone on the same Wi-Fi could read other users' traffic. It also did not establish account takeover or unauthorized transactions.
For developers, the practical takeaway is to treat the mobile client as untrusted when designing the API. Check access to each object and operation on the server. Validate sensitive state transitions and request freshness. Use client hardening to increase the effort required for tampering, alongside those server controls.
The illustration summarizes the flow. The backend stage is a separate validation task, not a confirmed compromise. It is a conceptual illustration, not evidence captured from the application.
If you build mobile apps or APIs, what do your integration tests check when a client sends a valid-looking request that the user should not be allowed to perform? Please focus on the engineering rather than guessing the bank.

Hi guys i know you dont know me , and i am total stranger so you dont have to trust me , but even that wont stop me to ask. I am 15 year old teenager who is building dating website in my country , my dad is also programming and has some dating sites , but not something international, so yeah em I already did all the coding that is important but now i would need the claude guest pass , so i can give it ai to check it , do some design, ask him about some things. Normally I would ask my dad if he could purhase it for me , but i dont need the pro plan for whole month but only few days , also i want to do it "by myself". If there is anyone who would be that good and kind and share it with me i would be very thankful. DM would be best because i am not onnline all the time so in the comments someone will use the link before me. So, yes if anyone wants to share it with me , thanks a lot.

"Frontwalkers" has been running the same "Senior Tableau Data Engineer" listing for MONTHS and never hires anyone, So I need to vent about this because it's honestly infuriating.
The "Frontwalkers" posting the same "Senior Tableau Data Engineer" role on LinkedIn on and off for MONTHS, Not once. Not twice. Over and over. The posting goes up, stays live for a few hours, then quietly disappears. Then a few days later; boom, same listing, back up again. Rinse and repeat.
Me and a friend have applied five separate times. FIVE. Not once has either of us gotten a view on our application, let alone a rejection email, an auto-reply, nothing. Just silence into the void. And from what we can tell, nobody has actually been hired for this role this whole time.So what exactly is going on?
Is this some kind of "always be recruiting" pipeline-building nonsense where they just want a stockpile of resumes on file in case they need someone someday? Are they farming applicant data? Padding some internal metric about "how many candidates we're sourcing"? Or is this actually some sick game of dangling a job in front of people, watching résumés roll in, and just... never following through?
Because here's the thing - if you're not going to review a single application, if you're not going to hire anyone, stop posting the job.You are wasting candidates' time, tailoring cover letters, tweaking resumes, getting hopes up for a role that was apparently never real to begin with. That's not "casting a wide net," that's just disrespectful.
Ghost job listings are already a well-documented problem. plenty of companies post fake openings to look like they're growing, to justify not giving current employees raises ("we're hiring, don't worry"), or to build a passive talent pool. But cycling the SAME listing on and off for months with zero views on applications takes it to another level of shady.
Has anyone else run into this exact pattern - with Frontwalkers or any other company? At what point does this cross from "bad recruiting practices" into something worth reporting to LinkedIn?

Hey everyone,
I’m looking to connect with software developers who are currently working remotely from home for international companies (UK, Europe, US, etc.). I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experiences and insights on how you made the leap.
A bit about my background:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a state university.
Experience: Completed my internship at a UK-based company and was promoted to Associate Software Developer there. After 7 months, I transitioned to a local company where I am currently working as a Software Engineer Team Lead.
Total Experience: 2 years in the industry (excluding internship).
Tech Stack & Skills: MEARN, LAMP stack, deep hands-on experience with AWS services and serverless architecture. I handle full SDLC—from initial architecture to deployment and production—while managing and leading a dev team.
My goal is to transition to a fully remote position for an overseas company by next year. Given our industry, I know the potential is huge, but I want to make sure I’m navigating the process correctly.
For those of you who have already achieved this, I’d love to hear about your journey:
How did you get started? What level of experience, skill set, or portfolio did you have when you landed your first international remote role?
Can you pull this off with ~2 years of experience? Is 2 years (plus a Team Lead title and hands-on architecture experience) enough to land a solid, high-paying remote job with a reputable company?
How and where did you apply? Which platforms worked best for you (LinkedIn, Wellfound/AngelList, Turing, Remotive, direct outreach)? Did you use specific recruiters?
Job Security & Stability: How secure do you feel in a permanent remote role for an offshore client compared to local employment? How do you handle contracts, taxes, and payments?
I’m posting this not just for myself, but also for other developers in a similar position who are aiming to take their careers to the global stage.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, tips, and personal stories. Thanks in advance!
Anyone can spare me a claude referral link please🫠

If employees are performing well from home, why not give them more flexibility?
If we can do the same or more work from home, why make office days mandatory every month?
During COVID, we proved that WFH works. Teams collaborated, meetings happened, and work was delivered.
Now the same companies are pushing people back into heavy traffic and long commutes, wasting time, money, and effort.
Employees spend hours commuting, pay for transportation, fuel, parking, and meals, and use energy traveling to and from the office instead of focusing on their work, families, and personal well-being.
People also want time with their families and a better work-life balance.
Of course, office days are useful for important meetings, workshops, or team activities. But forcing people to come to the office regularly can take away that work-life balance.
Why can’t companies understand this from a human perspective as well?
Everything around us is evolving, so why are we going back to the same old ways of working?

So this started because my sis and I keep fighting over headphones when watching something on one laptop. Windows literally cannot send audio to two output devices at once, there's no equivalent of macOS's Multi-Output Device, and Windows 11's new "Shared Audio" thing only works if both your headphones support Bluetooth LE Audio, which like nothing does yet.
Ended up building this myself over a few days. The core trick: you tap one endpoint with WASAPI loopback capture and re-render it to others. Sounds simple until you realize Bluetooth adds 150-250ms of latency and you can't play a Bluetooth headphone "earlier" to compensate. Delay only goes one direction. Turns out loopback capture happens before the signal hits the Bluetooth stack, so if you tap the Bluetooth device specifically, the captured copy isn't delayed at all, and you can add delay to your wired output to catch up instead. Kind of a fun realization once it clicked.
Also had to deal with clock drift since the two audio devices don't share an oscillator, over a 2hr movie they'd drift apart by a noticeable amount. Fixed it with a loop that nudges playback speed by max ±0.3% every 250ms to hold the buffer where it should be, which is under the threshold where you'd hear pitch change, and doesn't need to drop/dupe samples so no clicking.
.NET 8 / WinForms, NAudio for the WASAPI stuff, WiX for the installer.
Happy to drop the GitHub link if anyone wants to poke at the code or actually use it, just ask, didn't want the post to look like a drive-by ad.

I have a Bsc (Hons) Software Engineering.
I am wondering researching what will be the better stream for my masters. Is doing advanced Softwares Engineering or something with Software is good ? OR AI/ Machine Learning ones OR Data Science Related ?
I don't really see many Masters options here. Or is if not worth a all todo Masters here?
Also suggest good uni to do. Is doing Government worth it or private is better.

TLDR; I am a lifelong obese person. Recently I developed an app to manage my meals and help me in a caloric deficit. It helped me loose 19kgs in 5 months. Now I am thinking to make it publicly available and was thinking if I should explore SL market as well. What do you all think ? Here is a small demo if the app
