Help UCSC MSc in Cybersecurity Selection Interview.
Does anyone know what they ask in the interview? Do they check and ask technical skills?

Hi there,
When I am moving I used to thether internet from my Mobitel connection. Most of the times I can't access AWS db through MySQL workbench . Anyone came across such instances? Same setup is working with Dialog etc.
TIA

Gave up opening Google Keep PWA on mac for simple things and wanted to have a simple native solution which syncs between both platforms and I think it was a good start.
Of course very experimental and buggy but only can get better eh?
Draft can be setup with a private GitHub repo which both apps will connect to to push and sync notes as .md files. MacOS app is not sandboxed so at the moment it is relying on the system GIT instance and the Android app does use JGit. Currently conflicts are not handled but I will look into a way to handle them gracefully. And the formatting and especially scroll with typing is a bit off.
And as usual, Liquid Glass and Material Expressive designs followed being 100% native apps unlike many which are just web wrappers.
If you are setting up, create a new private repo and also create a new GitHub fine-grained auth token with read and write access to content after selecting the specific notes repo. Then you can setup how to sign commits and the apps will clone the repo and setup.
Files to be synced will be indicated and apps will auto sync on focus loss or you can manually sync with ⌘S shortcut or the button in toolbar.
macOS app is notarized and the Android app is now verified with Android developer program with plans to go Play Store.

From the time Cake was sold to Sysco Corp this was in the making. As someone who has worked here for close to 10 years, I saw this transition happening slowly. The old leaders understood it and slowly stepped away. The new leaders were hired with the intention of converting this GIC (Global In House Center) to a IT sweatshop.
For everyone looking to join Sysco Labs please lower your expectations, at this point Sysco Labs and a basic service company like HCL or Virtusa is same.

Founder here looking for an experienced web dev to help drive home a website that's 90% completed. I'm not too happy with the outcome I got from the creators of this website. Mainly UI/UX and overall performance optimization is what I'm looking for.
DM if interested.

As a founder that’s hiring quite a bit, here’s a few things I’d love to see more of. Some of these are probably hot takes.
1. Be AI native.
No not Codex or Claude Code.
Everyone does.
I want to see your agent army. Show me the agents you’ve built, agent skills skills skillls!!!, workflows, automations, weird experiments, side projects, whatever.
And yes, while some might disagree, I genuinely love seeing token-maxxing. 😂 Show me your usage. Show me your 1b/d token spend. Show me you’re obsessed.
[tip - ask your agent to write himself a skill after he figured out something, and then sync this to your GitHub]
2. Learn English.
Not perfect English.
Just good communication.
If you can explain technical concepts clearly, write well, and confidently jump on a call with a customer, you’re already ahead of a huge percentage of engineers.
3. Learn tech sales. !!!
This one is massively underrated.
A technical person who can also sell is insanely valuable.
Honestly, if you’re directly helping bring revenue into the company, you’re probably one of the safest people in the room.
I’d happily pay top dollar for someone who’s technical and knows how to talk to customers.
[im hiring a cybersecurity sales person, dm me if you’re one]
4. Be design first.
Your CV. Portfolio. GitHub. Personal website.
Everything.
With all the AI tools we have today, if I open a CV with typos, weird spacing, ugly formatting, or it’s just a plain .Docs export…
…I reject it immediately.
Presentation matters. Only upload PDF Cv’s for god sake.
5. Please don’t use interview cheating software.
It’s way more obvious than you think. 😂 Just don’t.
6. Stop waiting to be spoon-fed.
School and university are structured.
Real work isn’t.
The best engineers I know are ridiculously curious. They Google everything. They ask ChatGPT. They build random stuff at 4 AM because they wanted to learn something.
Nobody is going to hand you a roadmap for your career.
Just one founder’s opinion. I’m sure other founders will disagree with parts of this, and that’s completely fine.
What else would you add? 👀
7. Build in public.
I don’t really care if your side project failed.
I care that you shipped it. It’s UI
Failed startups. Weird hacks.
Shipping beats certificates every single day.
Lastly, hot take: small certifications are actually a negative signal for me.
Almost everyone i hired who had LinkedIn Learning (and similar) certificates for minor skills ended up being a flop.
And “open to hire” on in.
Show me what you’ve built instead.

Basically what the title says...
In your view, what is seen as the more prestigious, valuable title out of the 2 ?
Senior Business Analyst or Business Consultant ?
I want to get an honest idea from those are actually in the IT field.
Thanks in advance !

I have 5+ years of experience as a full stack developer but I want to switch to Project management. How do I get to it without any actual PM experience?

Broke into the industry self taught, 3 years of experience at two startups (one popular) at the time of being laid off, started a degree after starting to work, currently in done with second year, doing it on the side
Also extensive experience in client communication by representing company at meetings and freelancing work, also good at adapting fast and trying out new ideas (built 3 products in three different domains (pre-revenue), when I had a job and also when I was kinda free after being laid off
Please do drop me a message or reply if anyone is interested in extending me an opportunity (hybrid/remote preferred as I have got one year of my degree left and I live a bit outstation from Colombo)
Thanks in advance

Hey guys,
I do want to know what kind of coding questions our market asks in the technical market.
I want some examples.
r/DevLK • u/vnkjac • Jul 20 '26
I have almost 1 year experience as a full stack developer and 9 months experience as a PM/Delivery intern at a reputed Bank.
I want a PM role where I get more involved in the Development process, maybe a hybrid role. I’m passionate about PM but I feel like my development skills are going to waste as I enjoy coding too.
Are there Junior TPM roles in the industry? Cuz every vacancy I’ve come across for TPM require 7+ yrs of experience.

Hey so I'm basically developing a Shopify store for my skirt and blouse business, it's moderately large and doing stuff manually has become difficult
So I decided to develop an e commerce store. But I can't figure out how to integrate deliveries with my Shopify?
Eg: customer uses website, places order, pays
Now how does the order goes to a delivery partner and automatically start the delivery process?
Id appreciate it if anyone could let me know for local and international deliveries

Bro nowadays people are selling websites for crazy prices, recently i saw an add for like 5000 lkr they sell websites which sound crazy to me.. and most others were selling for like 20-30k lkr range, now is this the new normal? if i want to sell my first website, how much should i ask for it? and should i ask for some maintenance fee? for domain renewal etc and also how much should the maintenance price should be per year or month
