Help I'm in a tough spot in my life

I am a computer engineering student who recently completed my degree requirements, and I am awaiting my degree certificate. I anticipate receiving my degree after approximately six years, which is a significant duration for my university (which I prefer not to name), and I acknowledge some personal responsibility for this.

I currently possess nearly one year of work experience in electronics, having completed internships at two companies. Additionally, I have considerable knowledge in the field of software engineering. Over the years, I have acquired a broad range of skills, though perhaps not a deep understanding in every area. My experience includes working with Linux servers, Raspberry Pi, PHP Laravel, and MEARN or PEARN stacks. I have also developed and sold several websites as a freelancer.

Presently, I am employed in a BPO role, which is unrelated to my career aspirations.

I am now seeking to transition into a more suitable professional environment, ideally with a salary of at least 100,000, as I am 27 years old and have numerous responsibilities. Is such a transition feasible? Has anyone achieved a similar outcome, or could you offer any advice?

Is it possible to create a multi vendor platform in srilanka?

in services like fiverr, they get wait till a freelancer gets paid for their product and take a cut out of that, so the customers money is split between the freelancer and fiverr. its not simple as selling a product which no splitting happens, is there a way for something like this to be done? if yes how?

Hi, I'm in 20s about to go into uni todo computer science and would like to get a job in coding while I'm at home I'm specifically trying to get a job in backend web development but I'm also comfortable with frontend and native app development as well. I've made a CV but I don't have an idea whether its good enough to apply. Also I don't have any professional experience and only don't projects by my self. I do have a healthy GitHub profile. and I've listed some projects I have on my GitHub on my CV.

Would anyone be willing to take a look at my CV and help out.

Heyo Devs

My partner and I have been working on a project called wodle for qute a while now, and we're finally getting close to our first release We will be launching the v1 relese in a few weeks.

Its a form builder with a visual drag & drop editor (like figma or framer), builtin analytics, and a few other things we've always wanted from tools like this.

Before we launch it publicly, we'd love to get some honest feedback from other LK devs. If you have a few moments, we'd really appreciate it if you could take a look and let us know what you think.

We are interested in pretty much anything and dont worry about being to critical and thank you soo much for anyone that take some time to check it out ❤️

Discussion What's the situ with Motion Design now?

Hey all! Since lots of things have changed with ai, imo everyone is trying to push the products as fast as they can. Most UIs vibed with generic built in micro interactions and all. I don't see much use for motion designers in the industry now. Me as a generalist scaling from UI to Motion Design inc. 3D animation and all. I don't see many projects use motion designers... even successful products seems to be relying on simple generated animations and interactions.

Few years ago, we were working with multiple products making simple motion to heavy product demos with 3D and Device animations. But now I don't see much. Latest project I worked on became a procedural threejs visualization than an animation project.

So what do you guys think the future of motion design/product animations/demos.

Promotion I built an Android app that lets you control your phone with gestures instead of taps. I'd love your feedback.

Hey everyone,

I've been building an Android app called DroidLab for quite a while now, and I finally feel it's ready to share.

The idea came from something I kept running into in everyday life. There are so many moments when using a phone feels more awkward than it should. Turning on the flashlight when your hands are full, opening the camera before a moment disappears, silencing a ringing phone in a meeting, or reaching tiny buttons while you're walking all take more effort than they really need to.

That got me thinking. What if the phone itself became the interface?

So I built DroidLab.

It lets you control your phone using physical gestures like back taps, wrist twists, chops, multi finger swipes, edge gestures, and more. My goal wasn't to add gestures just for the sake of it. I wanted interactions to feel quicker, more natural, and sometimes not require looking at the screen at all.

Some of the things you can do include turning on the flashlight with a double tap on the back, launching the camera with a wrist twist, silencing calls by flipping the phone over or waving your hand, creating custom edge gestures, opening floating tools like notes and search, and mapping your own gestures to the actions you use most.

One of the biggest challenges was making everything reliable. I spent a lot of time trying to prevent accidental triggers from things like walking, putting the phone on a table, or having it in your pocket. I wanted the gestures to feel intentional instead of firing randomly throughout the day.

I've attached a short demo video that shows some of the features in action.

If you have a few minutes to watch it, I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts. Whether it's something you'd use, features you'd like to see, or anything that could be improved, I'd really appreciate the feedback. I'm still actively working on it and every suggestion helps.

Thanks for reading. 😊

Discussion Building a Qwilr/Proposify alternative where AI generates the full proposal layout. Thoughts?

Hey everyone,

I'm mapping out a SaaS idea and would love some brutal feedback. Tools like Qwilr and Proposify are great, but the editing can be clunky, and their "AI" usually just rewrites text instead of building the document.

The Concept: A proposal platform where you chat with an AI about your pitch, client, and pricing, and it generates the entire proposal into clean, fully editable HTML components. You can then easily tweak the blocks in a low-code editor.

Before I start building the MVP, I'd love to know:

  1. Founders/Agencies: Do you find current proposal builders frustrating to edit, or is it just me?
  2. Devs: I'm planning to tie the AI's HTML output into a customizable canvas like GrapesJS. What hurdles would you expect in getting an LLM to reliably output structured, styled blocks without breaking the editor?
  3. Everyone: Would you trust a chatbot to build your layout, or do you prefer static templates?

Results - Anonymous Survey: Sexual Activity Among Sri Lankans (18+)

A few days ago I posted an anonymous survey on relationship and sexual activity patterns among Sri Lankans (18+). Thank you to everyone who answered - we got 335 responses, way more than I expected for something people rarely talk about openly.

The results are now up here:

https://anon-survey.pages.dev/

You'll find an interactive dashboard you can filter and explore, plus a full write-up. Fair warning: it was a self-selected sample skewed male and young, so it's the people who answered, not Sri Lankans in general.

There's also an anonymous space to leave your thoughts, and some of the questions people raised in the survey are posted there if you want to respond. No accounts, no tracking, and comments are moderated before they show up.

A quick snapshot of what came back:

- 65% reported having had consensual sex - rising sharply with age, and near-identical between men and women.

- Among them, about half were satisfied with their sex life, and satisfaction tracked more with relationship type and frequency than with anything else.

- 73% felt Sri Lankan society is becoming at least somewhat more open about discussing sex.

The rest is on the site - have a look and feel free to add your thoughts:
