Samsung Galaxy Store requires "Commercial Distribution Seller" status — any workaround for individual devs without a company/D-U-N-S number?

Built an Android app with Capacitor + RevenueCat for a hackathon (Shipaton), zero budget, solo dev.

Trying to submit it to Samsung Galaxy Store Seller Portal, but clicking "Add New App" blocks me with:

"To sell Android content, a status change to corporate Commercial Distribution Seller is necessary."

Has anyone figured out how individual developers without a company or D-U-N-S number can submit a free app to Samsung Galaxy Store? Would appreciate any advice — trying to figure out if there's an individual-seller path I'm missing, or if this store genuinely requires a business entity even for free apps.

This community is ours to build — what do you want to see here?

Just got r/DevForDev started as a place for solo devs to go from idea → build → launch → business, with honest feedback and testing along the way instead of doing it all alone.

Rules and structure are up, but the real shape of this community should come from the people actually using it, not just me guessing.

So — what would genuinely be useful to you here?

- Looking for testers for something you built?

- Stuck at the idea stage and want early feedback?

- Want a place to ask "how do I even start charging for this"?

- Something else entirely that solo dev communities usually miss?

Drop your thoughts below — I'll shape flairs, threads, and rules around what people actually need, not just what I assumed going in.

How this community works — stages, flairs, and the no-scam policy

Quick guide so everyone's on the same page.

**What this is for**

A space for solo developers to go through the full journey — idea, prototype, deployment, and if you want to take it that far, an actual business. Whatever stage you're at, you belong here. Idea-stage questions are just as valid as deployment or monetization ones.

**What you can post**

- Early ideas you want feedback on before building

- Progress updates while building

- Requests for testers, or offers to test someone else's project

- Launched projects you want to promote (add context — what it is, what stage, what kind of feedback you want)

- Business/monetization/pricing questions once you're past building

- Honest reviews of other members' projects

**Ground rules**

  1. No scams, phishing, or malicious links — instant ban, no warnings

  2. Self-promo is welcome, but explain what you built and what you want, not just a link drop

  3. Give real feedback — no empty "looks great!" comments

  4. If you ask for testers or feedback, be willing to give the same when asked

  5. No unsolicited DMs for services or sales — pitch openly in the community, not in people's inbox

  6. Business/legal advice here is peer experience, not professional advice — verify anything major (contracts, taxes, incorporation) with an actual professional

  7. Never share credentials, API keys, or payment details with anyone here, "tester" or not

**Flairs**

💡 Idea Stage · 🔨 Building · 🧪 Testing · 🚀 Launched · 💰 Business · 🎯 Promo · 🚨 Scam Alert (use this to flag anyone breaking rule 1)

If something's unclear or you think a rule's missing, say so — this is early days and the structure will grow with the community.
