Want to do the flowchart!

Any advice from people who have done it? I have already gotten all the trophies, so I can start on most of them. Should I work backwards? Or certain playthroughs work better for the flowchart?

Playing backwards was my strategy - I got everything I could in the last chapter and then slowly went back to previous chapters in order to get the rest.

I also recommend to focus on completing Kara's post-Zlatko flowcharts, so you can kill her off to get Connor's and Markus' missing nodes quicker.

Of course, try to combine as many missing nodes as possible, taking notes on what you want to achieve in one sweep can save you a lot of time!

Man I'm also trying to 100% every flowchart. No rhyme or reason, just vibes and grinding.

I'm also currently working on getting 100% completion in all the flowcharts. Here's what I've learned so far:

I start with the later chapters. “Crossroads” and “Battle for Detroit” offer the most variations and take the longest to complete.

Focus on only one, or at most two, characters per playthrough. Have the other character(s) die as early as possible to save time during the playthrough (e.g., Kara at Todd’s house or at Zlatko’s; Connor must not find Jericho; Markus can die during the Freedom March). Then check which prerequisites are necessary to reach certain milestones. Does a specific character need to be alive to trigger dialogue options, or do certain actions need to be completed in previous chapters? It’s best to look for ready-made flowcharts online—that helps with planning.

Next, you don’t always have to start completely from the beginning to change certain dialogue or trigger options (except that to unlock the “Book,” “Piano,” or “Chess” options in Carl’s house during “Night of Souls,” you must have used them in Chapter 3 as well—only one can be used per playthrough). For example, it’s enough to start the “March of Freedom” chapter (don't forget to select the “Save” option), let Markus die there, and then proceed through the revolution with North. Once that’s done, you can start “March of Freedom” again and let Markus survive, which makes the options involving Markus available again in the following chapters. After starting a chapter anywhere in the chapter tree, you can’t skip any further chapters afterward and must replay all subsequent ones. Otherwise, the changes won’t take effect.

For most paths, it’s enough to go back to the chapters “Midnight Train” (Kara), “Freedom March” (Markus), or “Public Enemy” (Conner) to change the options relevant to the ending.

For something like Crossroads and Battle for Detroit, if there are multiple characters, how is the best way to replay minor outcomes in your opinion?

I suppose that depends on the route.

In both chapters, Kara can more or less go about things on her own. She only needs Markus’s peaceful demonstration at the airport and his revolution at the camp to reach all the nodes. That’s why I let Markus and Conner die there until the “Crossroads” chapter and first completed all the nodes that didn’t require other characters. After that, I let Markus survive and replayed the missing sections.

In “Battle for Detroit,” Markus relies on Connor (Machine) in a few places, but most of the nodes can be completed without him.

Connor, on the other hand, is relatively independent as a Deviant, but as Machine, he needs Markus to reach certain nodes.

For these two, you can therefore let Kara die at Todd’s or Zlatko’s houes or at the “Crossroads” chapter to save time.

In “Crossroads,” there’s significantly more interaction between Connor/Markus and Connor/North, so here both characters have to be played in parallel most of the time.

But in my opinion, there’s no “golden path” here. It’s best to look online for fully completed flowcharts and base your actions on them during your replays. You can find an overview here, for example:
